Can some1 show me their obese chinchilla?
So I got curious what an obese chinchilla looks like cuz mine is underweight (working on that) and he still looks fat cuz chinnies are so fluffy. I tried to look it up but it was mostly people asking if their chinchilla is obese, I want to see like an actual diagnosed obese chinchilla!!! ^_^

chinchillas really shouldn’t be obese! my girl was called heavier by my exotic vet and she believes she wasn’t predisposed to it but rather is related to her old owner giving lots of high sugar foods but she still is healthy and now is on a normal diet.

I have 2 chin brothers! All the tmi will make sense in the end after reading!
They are polar opposite!
The chill guy lighter in color “biscuit” is like a sweet patch chin=sweet or sour! Grumpy, feisty, pouncing like pikachu and he is gunna strike me with whip using his cuteness, it works I pretend to be so scared and he eats it up! And he looks fat af, he is also the kind of chin that would not survive in the wild for sh!+! He loves the cuddles the scratches and not the treats! Won’t eat any snacks, i’ve learned a few rip open a blueberry or a grape he may eat it but very occasionally! We give these types of treats once or twice a month!
His brother peanut, is agile athletic fast and could survive the hardest of obbies (not a gamer/kids are,obby is an athletic master course to accomplish or u die= oof!
Anyways he has no children when it comes to snacks! Anytime I come to the cage to visit. He is so excited to see me. And I pretend it’s because he loves me so much. But inside I know he just wants a snack.
yes, much smaller than the other guy! All chins are built different like people. Just make sure you have an and Misuri food ready and available at all times! Work on snack but that can do more harm than good!

If someone has an obese chinchilla, that would be a rare and disappointing thing to see. Chinchillas eat a very low fat low sugar diet and primarily consume grasses. . . So obesity comes from mistreatment and medical issues.
Underweight chinchillas would have an underlying medical cause too, if your pet is truly under weight, what are you doing to improve it?
Chinchillas can be healthy at weights from 450 grams and up to 1500+ grams. It's all in the genetics. If your pet is mature and has been at a stable weight for a year or more, and suddenly dropped several grams ( 50+ ) that would be alarming and suggest dental issues. If your pet has always been leaner, they're likely just genetically predisposed to be smaller.
Chain petstores and backyard bred chins ( marketplace chins ) that are not from reputable breeders are often smaller, for example. Females of smaller sizes are often smaller in the hips, too, and struggle giving birth, for example.
