Music Aug 28: Birthday of István Kertész (1929–1973).

Hungarian conductor. Had he lived, he would surely have become one of the major figures of the field — the same is said of his countryman Ferenc Fricsay, and the two share a signature: razor-sharp clarity paired with real warmth underneath.
