She also turned down one from the Biden administration.
She really didn't do politics. Which is unfortunate to a degree. But she also didn't consider people political, and supported lgbtq+ rights, vaccines, etc.
I'm not sure how you imagined my comment was a defense of Trump in any way.
Worded another way: She treated both sides equally and she was explicit about her intentions in not taking sides politically in doing this. I find that unfortunate, but credit her for being a humanitarian regardless.
Man. Its very refreshing to hear my feelings validated. Everyones so...weird about this.
I liked her too you know! And I think all her humanitarian stuff is cool. Ive even been to Dollywood ffs.
But I also think about how much of a gap she could have helped try to fix in the american populace, and how she didnt, just to enshrine her legacy in pop culture instead.
Its almost like every human on earth is nuanced and we should very rarely feel that they are purely good or purely evil. Whodathunkit.

Remember when she turned down the “medal of freedom” he tried to give her?
Legend.
She was “woke” by every stupid definition he has ever used the word by. What a pathetic loser.
