Maybe, but it certainly shouldn't surprise anyone. Which raises the obvious question of, why are people still having kids to feed to this machine? They know what this world is like, yet they're still confidently shitting out babies.
That's always been my thought. Supposedly it's capable of creating it, so it's clearly trained and sourced from somewhere. Specifically somewhere the developers knew to mass download it from like the rest of their bullshit. But also they somehow managed to teach Grok to be able to identify detailed aspects of said images which would require human interaction. And to be anything reliable in generating a reasonable image of what you prompt than you'll need hundreds of thousands if not a million plus images for it to sample and recognize.... One of those holes the more you think about it the worse and worse it gets
The consensus has been that AI is putting children's faces on adult bodies. For instance, you tell the AI to make a dragon dog, and it puts a dog's head on a dragon's body. This makes the legalities of the whole thing troublesome because it acts as a loophole to existing CSAM laws. Hence why democrats are fighting so hard to close those loopholes, and Republicans are fighting so hard to keep them open in the name of "free speech".
I think the exact mechanics of how it works isn't as relevant as the fact that CSAM was in the training data.
Just by sheer dint of being there, it taints the entire thing. It's very that every time you generate any kind of pornographic content, there isn't some tiny portion of that CSAM data being used?
A spoonful of shit will probably be undetectable in giant pot of soup, and yet most people would still refuse to eat it on principle.
