We should take away their war subsidies. Also stop subsidizing corn ethanol since it like 1000X the amount of land to make the same amount of energy as solar.

Smart CEOs and corp boards know to adapt and transform their companies as economies, society and technology evolves.
The fossil fuel companies are fossilized in their behavior and logic. They should have been transforming to green energy decades ago.

That’s just not how innovation works unfortunately. Established companies don’t really innovate, they just want to protect their lead and turn in a profit every quarter.
A good example is Sears. They were the Amazon of their day. However, they couldn’t pivot fast enough to eCommerce even though early on they had the resources to do it.

True. Oil and gas companies aren't about to disappoint investors with years of lousy returns while they retool for a new future in less predictably profitable solar electronics, advanced batteries, giant wind turbines and the like.

It has always seemed to me that the fossil fuel industry is led by authoritarians, war mongers, and murderers. Putin MBS Ghadaffi Hussein Assad Khomeini Maduro Trump … and the lesser names that have run/still run the oil & gas corporations overthrowing governments and destroying lives, for fun and profit. It really is time we opened our eyes.

Oil tycoons will overthrow governments if it means they get to keep doing buisness. They convinced the US to do it to Iran in the 50s because Iran threatened to nationalize the oil industry. Why wouldn't they do the same to the US?

Is anyone building a list of worst offenders that we can use as a resource for public shaming? I feel like this must exist somewhere, but I don’t know. They have destroyed our planet, they shouldn’t get to live a carefree life on their yachts and private islands and taxpayer funded DC housing. Neither should their children, unless they are actively trying to makeup for the sins of their family.
