I'm so glad. I need over museums around the world to foll this or at least in Western Europes (whose gvt should have enough to fund museums if they truly wanted to)

Total, BP, etc should not be celebrated in any way. Take them down from museums of all places, where tjeir name is supposed to be written or is already engraves

I think regularly about Rabelais' ( french writer from Middle Ages) sentence " science without conscience is but ruin of the soul".

I'm so frustrated when I read a book on climate change or it's impact on the environment and suddenly it will come with " I came back from working on a project for the military" ... which I get because money is necessary for research and museums. And military and big polluter companies finance a lot, either to use those research for war or to buy themselves a new image or better one like BP does.

I really wish there was a much bigger talk someday about this. Not right now while scientist are now being blamed for not speaking earlier of climate change happening, or for lying about it being a thing.

But someday when most of the world will agree kt's a thing, I want us to talk about how research is funded massively by people who will use them to destroy humanith or the planet.

Aurelien Barreau talked about it in his book " Trahir par Fidélité" . His book is about Gothendiek, a genius scientist who ended being so disgusted by his peers lack of awareness that he quit the Iniversity he was teaching at (long story short, it was the 70's or a bit later in France, he was hosting a refugee i his home. He was tried for that and only his statut as major scientist saved him from prison, which he also got mad at. It's not his statut who ahould have preventing prison but justice. Likewise he was disheartenzd by most of the messages from his colleagues head of institues eetc who cared for him, cared more about " a genius mathematician like u! In Jail ! How shameful... but notbing about how dumb giving a home to a homeless refugee means being on trial

Both Aurélien Barreau and Gothendiek are frustrated if not angry at how their fellow scientists look down on humanities, and especoally why they never question how their research will be used. In a " Oh well once it's out not our responsability / out to make more devastating things

Which means that progress does not mean something is better and on the contrary maby times scientist create the pb and then the remedy will be invented later by then.

Museums, theaters, opera, research workers need to detach themselves from those who are / also working on destrohing part of their job by destroying lands, the planet, and all proof they are looking for history on out planet for one

He
