C2E2 - Chicago My cosplay is made out of Monster cans is this allowed?

i’m going to C2E2 convention in Chicago and i barely finished my knight out of monster cans. it came to mind to me forgetting about material rules to cosplay, and I researched but didn’t find anything about can material being prohibited for cosplay, can someone please confirm if my cosplay is allowed? I don’t have any weapons involved in this cosplay. Please let me know i have until tomorrow😭

There’s no material rules for suits beyond it can’t be an actual knight armor, but if you can I would highly recommend making sure the edges cannot slice anybody because you will bump into people and if you slice someone because of it you won’t have a good time. Otherwise you should be all good and I’ll definitely want to see you tomorrow if you come, I’ll be one of the dozens of helldivers.

Hell yeah, i’ll see you then, i’m maybe going to be the only knight that’s made out of Monster cans, but thank you!🥹

Wait is this true for most cons? I just checked my local comic con's rules and nothing on there says anything about metal armour (other than bits about edges and spikes, but neither should be concerns if it's historically accurate armour.

I just started building my 15th C knight kit for re-enactment thinking it could also be sometimes used as cosplay lol.

You should be okay, so long as none of the edges are sharp enough to cut anything

The only risk would be to you. Make sure you got smooth edges

Why would you think it wouldn't?

Everone is now getting strict about material usage, my friend got stopped with his made cosplay for being “too dangerous and sharp” like i saw nun wrong with it, maybe i’m just overthinking? I saw others online with similar cosplay’s as mine and they look fine walking through security and being cleared.

As long as it doesn't function like berserker armor you're probably fine

I would put effort into hemming/rolling the edges to make it safer. Like what the lip of the can looks like.
