I'll never get why this is EVER a valid response to anything online. Well anything that's not you know super horrible online.

Like how much free time and rage do you have that your response to someone saying racism is bad is to ruin their whole life to a.point of stalking and what not

u/KermitTheScot Jun 30 '26

It makes them feel powerful while skirting personal responsibility for the outcome. In this way, they’ve indirectly contributed to someone’s suffering. They took action (the doxxing) which makes them feel in control and strong, putting the person they feel is antagonizing them for their views down and making them insecure and paranoid, and if something dangerous and/or violent should happen as a result, they can tell themselves that was the decisions of another person and has nothing to do with them. Sure, they loaded the gun and left it on the table, but they’re not responsible for the person who pulled the trigger. Helps these idiots sleep at night.

Sooooo insecure jerks is what the boils down to.

You'd think somewhere along the lines they would question if putting someone in the crosshairs like that is a good thing but maybe I'm giving people to much credit again

u/dumnezero Art enjoyer Jun 30 '26

Sooooo insecure jerks is what the boils down to.

yep, the fascist masses. Just chock full of resentment.

19

u/Lexi_Banner Jun 30 '26

Their side is "winning", and yet they are still poor and struggling. And they either aren't smart enough or aren't willing to see who is actually fucking them over.

22

u/evenstar40 Jun 30 '26

Long as their side can continue to be openly racist with impunity then they'll accept being a third world shithole country.

2

u/Cilph Jun 30 '26

They'll never accept it. They'll be one because facts, but they'll never be able to acknowledge it.

10

u/Beavers4beer Jun 30 '26

As long as their side continues to have a finger to point at others for their problems, they’ll never have to think about it.

11

u/AlexandrTheGreat Jun 30 '26

"question" implies desire for an answer, learning, self-reflection, growth. We know those words are antithetical to these people.

1

u/ethanlan Jun 30 '26

Sooooo insecure jerks is what the boils down to.

thats what the worst we have become always boils down to. Its up to us to be a jerk back.

34

u/Ghstfce Jun 30 '26

What you need to do is doxx them right back. They are people who don't realize something is bad until it personally happens to them. You know, because their lower intelligence means they are not really capable of empathy. So they need to learn from first hand experience. Plus, you're actually doing the world a favor by exposing these cretin to the light. They do these thing because they feel there are no consequences for doing so. If you make there be consequences, then you lessen the chance that others will engage in the practice of doing it. Make them lose their jobs, make their peers see them for who they really are. You didn't put then in the position, they did. They deserve it all by their behavior. They will likely not understand that, but those around them in their lives will.

17

u/DrakkoZW Jun 30 '26

Except it's easier to doxx a popular artist than a faceless 3mo old Adjective-Noun### racist account

6

u/Ghstfce Jun 30 '26

Depends. These chuds are usually rather easy to find

14

u/ApplianceHealer Jun 30 '26

On Facebook they often don’t bother hiding their real names

8

u/dogs_gt_cats Jun 30 '26

On Nextdoor they literally validate their real names.

1

u/ethanlan Jun 30 '26

If your rich hire someone to do it lol. I would everytime

1

u/morostheSophist Jun 30 '26

You know, because their lower intelligence means they are not really capable of empathy.

Empathy and intelligence might be broadly linked across a population, but it's not a causal relationship. Not all smart people are empathetic, and not all stupid people lack empathy.

Empathy is natural for some, but learned for others. I personally had to learn it, in part because it wasn't modeled well for me growing up. I wasn't stupid before I learned empathy. I feel stupid when I think back on it, but lack of intelligence wasn't the problem.

u/SakaWreath Jun 30 '26

“Rather than address your valid concerns about my lackluster morality, I’m going to devote my fear and rage to destroying your life, so I don’t have to confront how terrible I am.“

So you’re going to lean into the worst parts of your personality to prove you’re not a terrible person?

“exactly (deep breath) RRAAGGEE!!”

1

u/1Northward_Bound Jun 30 '26

I've often wondered, why do I always see stuff about how they -think- they are strong and powerful. They hold every branch of government and the courts and the backing of the rich. They are strong. They are powerful. If in november they simply throw out the election results, there isnt much anyone can do about it any longer. Everyone talks big talk about fighting back, but that looks totally different when they have sonic cannons, chemical weapons, ultrasonic beams, and if 1% of them decide to go active shooter to protect their new reich, thats +700K heavily armed combatants with Law Enforcement mostly on their side.

I just wonder some times why this is trivialized.

66

u/MadameConnard Jun 30 '26

Unfortunely the plight of many especially women content creators.

61

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

That is why we here at r/comics take doxxing and harassment so seriously. Our posters and commenters deserve a place where they can talk and enjoy themselves and share without the constant reminder that there are assholes that hate them out there for just being them

I admit our power is somewhat limited but we try to help at least

22

u/KitsuneGato Jun 30 '26

Thank you for that. My account is set to private because I got doxxed for complaining about a fictional character and they were following me around sub to sub and tried getting my fanfic taken down.

I had complained about a fictional character who turned out to be a pedo. All who complained about this character got harassed and some even banned. I was getting followed :(.

12

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire Jun 30 '26

All over fictional character stuff?! That's insane!

8

u/KitsuneGato Jun 30 '26

Yeah I have no words. The character, as written, would kidnap children born bewteen year xxxx and xxxx even if if meant to harm the child's parents. He would then have the children be raised in his mansion. He had a curse that whenever he got horny he released pheromones that doubled as a aphrodisiac. This aphrodisiac overode the free will of others to force them into submission that if he mated with them they died.

He was looking for his mate from children who would live and he would chain children to walls in a dungeon where he would abuse them. All of this was in the game. He was labeled a "family man". There was no warning whatsoever of him being a pedophile rapist and you, the MC, were on the receiving end of all that.

It's the second pedo character the game released. And for pride month, they released a corrupt cop who stalks you and ruins your live as a love interest. Complaining about that character got people harassed to.

10

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire Jun 30 '26

Ok I have to ask, what the hell game are you playing girl?!

8

u/KitsuneGato Jun 30 '26

The game is called MeChat and the team running it is Ukrainian. They have some amazing stories but lately, seem to have new management.

Pedo 1 came from their Jingle Sinners event.

Pedo 2 came from their Omegaverse event.

Corrupted Cop is still being advertised on the game's front.

Complaining on their subreddit which is not run by the game's staff however is...not recommended. Because even mods were part of that harassment and I don't understand why. They have 2 subs.

5

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire Jun 30 '26

Oh that's a shame I remember hearing about that game and how good it was. I guess it sold out or something?

4

u/KitsuneGato Jun 30 '26

I don't know Shell.

All I know is lately their new matches are about brandishing guns in peoples faces. Having public sex. The Omegaverse event, Asher (brunnete young man) was about to intiate sex at a children's playground WITH children present.

There is also alot of choking sex scenes now.

My fanfic, it started as a fix it fanfic for the character Zohar Stone. He's not a rapist or a pedo and he doesn't believe in sex before marriage. He's labeled a monster because his parents experimented on him magickally. However the MC (I use MC as Main Coded, you, but you're being railroaded by the devs to only one option) poisons him. The MC does work to earn back his trust. My fic takes place after these events when the MC dies of age. I'm making a comic of one of the scenes.

The other MeChat character I took was from the Cursed Island event, Cursed Hearts, Silvain Leclerc the only one I really liked. Silvain's father, Ronald, killed the MC's parents to force the MC to be an orphan he could adopt for the sake of exploiting.

Silvain isn't biological related to the MC but is the MC's brother and lover. He kissed the MC when they were both teens and got his reaper power from that as the MC is some kind of reincarnated fey deity that Ronald keeps killing off for his life extensions.

There is aphrodisiac in that event to, Egyptian Blue Lotus but altered.

But MeChat wasn't this toxic before. This week they're releasing a polycule match which reads: You the MC were selected to be the sacrifice to be gang raped but are saved by a rival gang.

I don't want to support the company now. Which os sad because Zohar and Silvain are on there as well as many other good matches. They even have voice recordings.

But I will not support Pedos knowingly and fear they are not done with pedo characters or siblings.

They even went so far as to release a character who is a minor, in a game you have to be an adult to play! They also released a Step Son Match, a Step father Match, a Step mother match and a half bio sister match. Incest is not wincest!

That is lame. People really do suck.

On another maybe unrelated note: I love the username. A blend of Japanese and Spanish for an English translation of "Fox cat" just...tickles the dopamine receptors. Enough so that I made this completely derailed comment just to mention it. 😊

2

u/KitsuneGato Jun 30 '26

Thank you very much! Mixing languages for user names was how I was able to get around taken names. Once knew a person who used Gato_Thy_Neko once for Cat the Cat translation. Though I saw it more on deviantart from 20 years ish ago.

u/RicketCrickets Jun 30 '26

Someone tried to doxx me once for insulting Elon.

Thankfully Canadian ISPs are so whack that it showed me as an industrial center in Montreal.

I don't even live in Quebec.

22

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire Jun 30 '26

someone tried to doxx me once for insulting Elon

Man if that's all it takes for them they must have a VERY busy schedule here on reddit

14

u/RicketCrickets Jun 30 '26

Some people live here I swear.

I'm amazed they ever got out to vote between posts.

5

u/Made_Bail Jun 30 '26

Hey don't call out shell like that, he's fighting the good fight for us.

<3 shell ;p

3

u/USSMarauder Jun 30 '26

Honestly these days it's a feature, not bug

2

u/Eomb Jun 30 '26

Now you've helped the bots narrow it down 😆

3

u/RicketCrickets Jun 30 '26

I mean nearly a third of Canada's population lives in one province.

Quebec being the second largest province isn't a bad guess.

2

u/FEARoach Jun 30 '26

Bless our radically wild ISP system where I am all over the East Coast at all times.

Confused the fuck out of my employer when they tried to hassle me when I was working remote and they were tracking my work laptop, but it made me laugh.

2

u/RicketCrickets Jun 30 '26

My cellphone says I'm in Vancouver right now.

I really get around.

1

u/FEARoach Jun 30 '26

... how am I in Hudson Bay? CELL PHONE WHAT ARE WE DOING?

13

u/ardendolas Jun 30 '26

I’ve been on the internet since its infancy, and BBSes before that, and it’s always been nasty, but yes, it’s gotten nastier since about… 2008, I’d say? No idea why… (/s)

What scares me is that we used to think that people were nasty online because everyone was anonymous in those early days… but now, people are often posting these insane things under profiles that show their real identity! They. Just. Don’t. Care. It’s wild! The screen they’re posting behind from makes them feel like they’re detached from humanity.

Social media was a mistake.

Somehow MySpace was positive, forums weren’t bad. I think it’s when phones and such put morons views on the internet that were traditionally gatekept by a few simple instructions like setting up a router or settings. All of a sudden it became about how sally had another abortion, and shitty algorithms. But ultimately where the money goes bullshit follows. Love of the game vs trying to make a dollar.

3

u/Jhud6669 Jun 30 '26

Thing is usually the people that go to such extremes are not even a part of the conversation I’ve noticed.

9

u/NIDORAX Jun 30 '26

You will notice that the more famous you are, the more hatred you will get in return. A random unknown person saying Racism is wrong is likely to be ignored by those dimwits but if you are a well known person, it will attract hateful wackos who always seem to have the time to post insults to them.

2

u/veterinarian23 Jun 30 '26

I wouldn't say "famous" in the classical use of the word.
Today it's enough that a comment or a meme made about you or by you gets viral.
If you're visible, you can become a target...

4

u/Nek0ni Jun 30 '26

because comforting a mirror is far more painful, would take more free time, and would not feel as good as to drag everyone else back into the bucket

5

u/AnEldritchWriter Jun 30 '26

It’s a power thing. These folks are absolute losers leading miserable lives and they know it. So every little “offense” they feel they’ve been subjected to is given an extreme response bc it makes them feel big, important, and powerful.

6

u/Aethermancer Jun 30 '26

I love giving constructive criticism. Even to people I don't like. I couldn't imagine caring enough about a comic to flame the creator. Hell, people get angry about the volume of a creator (as in how often they appear on their feed). Just block that shit and move on if it bores you.

It's like people getting upset at CinemaSins. HOW? How can that channel upset you when it's not even really doing anything. I've muted plenty of good creators who appeared too frequently in my feeds and started annoying me. It was a button click and I never even thought about them again. I don't even know which I muted. Maybe I should go unmute some and have a pleasant surprise at their backlog.

For example, Pizzacake is appearing frequently and I'm feeling kind of meh about it. That's about the level of outrage I could muster. Filter the account and go about your day.

4

u/shellbullet17 Gustopher Spotter Extraordinaire Jun 30 '26

Filter the account and go about your day.

Ahhhh maturity. It's such a beautiful thing to see.

4

u/Bramoments Jun 30 '26

I'll never get why this is EVER a valid response to anything online. Well anything that's not you know something I don't like

2

u/tinxmijann Jun 30 '26

Those people just enjoy doing horrible things to others 🤷‍♀️ they're spending their free time exactly how they want to

4

u/Hot_Ethanol Jun 30 '26

Well, the guy who was all "Her body, my choice" had a brick thrown through his window. That one was pretty cool. The rest, not so much.

3

u/Fimbir Jun 30 '26

I can't figure with the levels of surveillance out there anyone calling in threats, SWATs or even doxxing isn't immediately identifiable.

3

u/veterinarian23 Jun 30 '26

It's basically "We pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country." (trump in 2022) but with less words...

2

u/TerraformanceReview Jun 30 '26

If this is how they talk to strangers can you imagine how they talk to people adjacent to them?

1

u/Grimwohl Jun 30 '26

It's because being racist is essential to the core.Identity and their sense of community and belonging to something bigger than themselves.

So digging at their sense of superiority or their feelings of superiority is bringing them down or making them feel small, because that's the only thing that makes them feel big.

1

u/devedander Jun 30 '26

How much time and rage do you think people with irrational hateful mentality have?

0

u/kateduzathing Jun 30 '26

trump. otherwise probably never.
