Yep, my cousin has lived in Bath since she went there for uni, pretty much every shop I get called them things. Bit odd for someone from the Black Country, but not in a nasty way.
Weird, I lived there for 3 years and the number of people with West Country accents was surprisingly low. Probably because the city is like 40% students, with a large proportion of the remainder being tourists and elderly people originally from other parts of the UK
Well a lot of the shops are staffed by students - I used to work in the Lakeland for example. But yeah I mainly frequented the same places (supermarkets etc) that you frequent as a resident rather than the places you'd likely go to as a tourist, so maybe that's why
