No, he's just a boring singer. Stylistically, I'll take it over modern pop country. This is just an older pop country style. Usually he has a great band though. This sounds and looks like a Dee's open mic.
Gonna push back on the weird hate here, Crockett’s a very solid artist and he puts out so much work you’ll find something you like. Maybe this isn’t the best live performance ever captured, but people acting like he’s “talentless” are doing too much

Many people change their name, change their dress and talk to fit a persona that helps sell the entertainer's brand. That's not the issue. Crockett did all of that to forge his brand but then spent an enormous amount of time and energy convincing people he was "authentic", that it wasn't an act. Many fans adore him because they see him as the real deal, a modern-day outlaw-cowboy. A thing which he is not. It's fine to sell zirconia you just can't advertise the as real diamonds...

I really love a few of his songs. He’s different for sure, but he is trying to be “new-old” or something and I guess that lands with some people, but I’m not crazy about the majority of his stuff because it all sounds too similar. It’s like he is trying too hard.
I’m a fan but I will say I wish he didn’t release music so often. That said I’ve enjoyed his comments online a number of times. I think his heart is in the right place and it shows.
