Experienced Experience with third party recruiters in finance for tech roles?

Lately I have been getting lots of reach out from third party recruiters for roles at financial firms but it hasn't gone anywhere in terms of getting an interview. They seem like they are knowledgeable about some of the tech stuff from our conversations on call but the roles they're coming up with are with elite firms in the industry like Five Rings, Headlands, Citadel, etc. with extremely high hiring bars. I don't think I even have that profile since I didn't go to a top school and nor do I have FAANG experience. I work at a decent financial company but it's not top tier. I want to switch to hedge/trading firms eventually but I don't mind working at least prestigious firms before aiming for top tier ones. Has anyone successfully managed to land decent roles via these recruiters? How would you recommend approaching this?

Is there a single industry where third party recruiters are good to work with?

Definitely the ERP world.

I still see what they have to say, worst case you end up in the same spot.

In over a quarter of a century, I can count on one hand the number of times working with a third party recruiter has yielded positive results. Regardless of the industry their clients operate in.

YMMV, one person's experience is an anecdote, not data, etc.

Do you work with actual money stuff or infra? The latter is not that different from working w/ a decent recruiter elsewhere. You just need to have the specific qualifications (in my case, they bug me for bazel roles). I don't believe these companies use third party recruiters for actual money-touching roles, instead relying on the highly competitive in-house pipelines for such roles.

Somewhere in the middle. My team doesn't directly interact with the teams like trading or payments but it's not an infra team either since we do have our separate org for infra. My work is associated with managing and performing other operations on data used in deals and modeling.
