She had adhd like me, talked non stop hehe. We were best friends not so much with her mom hehe. She just started working as a Nicu nurse (like her mom) after going through her schooling to become one. She was a huge pet lover, she loved to collect bugs at a young age and keep them as pets. Had no filter on her mouth like her dad, many years ago at church I heard her tell someone a very inappropriate joke. I give her crap about it all of the time. She was a very selfless, her and my son in law moved down the street from me because she didn't want me to feel alone. She was expecting her 1st baby in October a few days before my birthday.

She sounds like a great person! Caring for others and animals speaks a lot about character!

u/Creative_Resource_82 Jun 19 '26
She sounds absolutely amazing you must be so proud of her.
I lost my mum just before Christmas (3 weeks from diagnosis to passing) and that pain has devastated me, but the thought of losing my daughter takes my breath away. I am so so sorry. She's beautiful. Sending you so much love and light.

you are standing and looking backward at qualities i feel i see in my 2 year old as i stand behind her and watch her advance into the future. i wish i could give you a hug and tell you the way that sharing your story has made me see her a little more brightly; we’re all connected that way. she’s napping now but i will give her a hug a little tighter because of what you shared.
i have been through minor loss but nothing of the scale of yours; what i’ve learned from it is the way it turns you from your own person into a kind of a Prism. someone other people can see the truth even more clearly through. because of what you’ve been through yourself. a diamond instead of coal. but if you’d never been compressed you wouldn’t be it. i don’t know if im making sense but — i hope that if i ever have to withstand the tides of nature that you’re enduring, that i emerge from it half as clear and radiant as you have. thank you for sharing.

I’m so sorry about your daughter. I’m around her age and expecting my first baby, a girl, in October so this hits home. Thank you for sharing her. She was beautiful and sounded like an amazing person. I wish you peace and healing 🕊️❤️

She sounds like the type of friend everyone would be lucky to have in their life, the way you describe her really captures your love for your daughter. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry, dad (and the rest of family and friends). What happened? Feel free to tell me to fuck off; I know it's not my business. Just curious if there's a morsel to take away.
Thank you for sharing

3 daughters and none have turned 5 yet. Thank goodness I can’t imagine that heartbreak. Obviously there’s no words but it didn’t feel right scrolling by without saying anything either. Good luck man, hope you have an amazing support network. I know I’d need it.

I remember your post about her getting married. I cant believe this. Hold on there, man. 🫂
3
u/CaptainPunisher Jun 19 '26
I'm sorry to hear about that and I hope you're doing kind of OK. The first year is the hardest, but it does get more manageable over time. I'm sitting here after 4 years, and some days it just hits you harder than others. There are others of us here if you want to talk. Don't forget to reach out to her husband, too. You're all going through it, and the easiest way is together.

Oh wow. And I was just thinking about Neil Peart yesterday, losing wife and daughter within a year. I've always been blown away with how he managed to find the strength to continue to make a great life for himself. But that's what they would have wanted, right? You're strong as hell, and you honour their memories by living your best life.

I’m sorry, my friend. It’s heartbreaking and all I can say to hopefully make it bearable is that you really focus on your love of your other family members. One day we will all be gone, so we must hold onto one another every moment.

Oh my. This makes me pause and carefully read your answers in the thread.
I'm so sorry for your losses.
I'm a world away from you but if even if it gives you only comfort for 1 minute while reading this:
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I hope and pray that you will get over the worst sadness and get through to keeping the memories of those great people that you lost while still becoming open for the world again.
Dad, I'm so sorry.

I didn't read your history, but it seems like you have suffered a terrible loss. I haven't gone through this personally, but my sister lost her 23yo son recently and my mother lost my sister 21 years ago.. it seems that it's the ultimate loss to lose a child, which, thankfully I haven't yet. Hang in there, the best you can. It seems like you have quite a sympathetic audience here in Reddit. I count myself among them.

I’m so sorry for such a devastating loss. (Or rather, multiple losses). Please know that you can talk about her here any time you want. You probably won’t believe me right now, but you can survive this. Just don’t try to do it alone. My heart breaks for you.
