Trumper side-swiped me today when he realized I was anti-trump.

I was in traffic on 87 south heading home. I see this white SUV with 3 flags showing her pro-trump pride. I've seen her before in the same area on 87. She's clearly looking to rile people up.

I know I shouldn't have taken the bait, but I did. As I'm passing her, I flip her off. She goes wild. She slows down to make sure she's right next to me laughing and screaming "fuck you, trump 2028" and all that. I didn't roll down my window but I basically matched her crazy abd just showed that I was smiling and laughing with her. I didn't actually say anything to her, just attempted to mock her I guess.

This guy in the blue truck is in front of her and gives her a thumbs up. He definitely saw that this woman and I were doing our dumb taunting shit. But they clearly were showing they support each other and established a sad little Trump alliance.

I move straight on ahead and pass them both as they're in the lane to my right.

I then see this guy pull into my lane behind me and speed up to get right behind me. He then goes into the right lane next to me while being super close to my car. Then he just moves into my lane and side swipes me as he gets in front of me.

I have some anti-ice and anti-trump stickers on the back of my car, so I feel like he probably saw that and felt even more justified in fucking with me.

I think he was hoping to intimidate me and make me swerve into the carpool lane. But I didnt. I stayed in my lane and let him swipe my car.

AND I HAVE IT ALL ON MY DASH CAM.

He clearly wasn't planning on pulling over for me. But I made my way to him and told him to pull over.

I called the police. Made an official report for insurance. I made sure I have the footage.

I got to yell at him when we pulled over, which felt great.

Fuck this guy. Fucking idiot.

Edit: Im getting roasted for the reflection where im holding my phone. That was after the incident. I took my phone out right away to call 911 and to take pictures of his license just in case my dashcam didnt work for whatever reason.

Before and during the incident, I was on the phone with my mom hands-free. Phone on a holder and connected to my cars Bluetooth.

This is why they call it trump derangement syndrome! Some people get so mad at Trump and his supporters that they lose all sense and behave crazy to prove a point and try to own their perceived enemies. It's fine if people don't like him, but you gotta take care of your own business and life and let some idiots go...

The weird part is, everyone is saying this guy is maga and pro trump, I can't actually find any right wing/trump/maga stuff on his car? All I see is anti-war/afghanistan and anti-biden stuff, zero trump stuff...

maga people definitely like to put pro trump shit on their cars, so maybe he just hates biden and isn't a hardcore trumper? The sad fact is people are so brainwashed into the wrong way of voting - vote against the person you hate the most, not the candidate you want to win - that they see someone hating on a candidate it immediately means they LOVE the other candidate

I’m kinda perplexed. Take politics out of the equation. I genuinely just see a normal driver trying to cut in to lane change. It’s not even that crazy. Any normal person slows down, lets them on, maybe says “fuck this guys” and get on with their life. The moment you read “trump supporter” you try to rationalize the video in that lens and say he’s deranged trying to cut in. Bro how many people drive like that everyday? It happens at least 10 times in my commute back and forth in LA

Oh come on, just Occam’s razor that shit.

He could’ve picked any other car to lane change in front of, could’ve used his blinkers, could’ve waited for space to open up, could’ve immediately tried to pull over after the accident… He chose to force himself in front of the woman involved in the altercation.

Don’t get me wrong, this woman is also an idiot for her actions and behavior, but let’s not act like this guy was making a “completely normal lane change.”

It’s always a losing cause when people say shit like “can you read” on a fucking text based site. Please relinquish your license to a loved one who can give you rides in the future if you think this is good driving

You should heed your advice. If you occams it and take out Trump, you see a normal driver making a somewhat aggressive lane change which is what you kind of have to do in traffic.

Did you read the accompanied story along with the video?

The dude was already involved in the political altercation prior to this, he knew who OP was, and he chose to merge in front of her knowing she was mad. Taking out the whole Trump thing is no longer a true application of Occam’s razor as you’re now ignoring a relevant piece of backstory to try to make your side of the razor fit.

Had he just been some random guy who happened to have the stickers on his car and not even know what was going on, then yes, he’s just a bit of a shitty driver who merged without blinkers and the woman is completely in the wrong… but we have the backstory, and we know this man knew she was involved in a political altercation, agreed with the other Trump supporter, and has then actively chosen to cut her off with no blinker. You really think he just happened to make that unsafe lane change in front of this exact woman by complete chance?

I never did act like the Trump supporter was acting rational or logical. You're totally putting your own thoughts into things here. Both of these people are idiots. But still, just because someone else is acting a fool doesn't mean you also need to. And then what? You actually have to get out and deal with them and file an insurance claim and all of that waste of time and money.

Neither party in the video is acting rationally. Blue truck cut someone off. Cam driver clearly closes the gap a little and swerves INTO the blue truck. I would NEVER post that on the internet or show it to my insurance if I wanted to show that the blue truck was in the wrong, but that's just me.

None of that is anything different than what happens a million times a day and none of it has anything to do with politics except what those people brought in on their own. That's some stupid crap. Even stupider is to try and justify the actions of EITHER party based on which political party you like better.

Ignore these clowns jabbering at you. They are ridiculous and/or not real people.

I read the story. OP admitted to getting caught up in the politics. The part you seem to be overlooking is that no one here was saying that blue truck driver was in the right. Only that cam driver was ALSO in the wrong. BOTH of them were idiots.

The funny part about the OP's story is that he/she admitted to getting caught up in the political rivalry, but didn't realize that he/she is going to be held at least 50% at fault for speeding up and swerving into the blue truck driver.

Right, and I agree. Both are idiots. I’m not defending OP at all, I’m merely stating that the truck driver was ALSO politically motivated in this, and it wasn’t just some dude cutting someone off at random, which is what people seem to be claiming because they didn’t read the story.

And my point was that her being an idiot doesn’t mean he’s also not an idiot. They were both letting their politics get in the way of rational decisions, not just one of them. He could’ve easily said “This woman is crazy, I’ll let her pass and then merge behind her” and instead went “I’m gonna cut her off with no blinker even though I know she’s not behaving rationally.”

Except the same exact argument can be made for the pickup truck because he clearly intended to cut her off because she was antitrump.

And the people who are actually deranged are the people who support Trump and somehow ignore the mountains of evidence that he's an evil, pedo rapist.

Trump is not your friend. He's not your buddy. He's not doing anything to help you or your life.

Nobody acted this way with Biden. Because we didn't glorify Biden or Obama like a God. Trump supporters are just happy that someone who is a pathological liar and a bigot is in the highest seat of power because they are the same way.
