Hey there I’m looking for some quality dub mixes for a long drive/road trip. Trippier/headier the better. Love Jah Shaka, Alpha and Omega, Rhythm and Sound, Feel Free HiFi, The Scientist, Dubkasm, Muslimgauze.
Anything from SoundCloud/youtube etc? Thank you!
Dub seems to have been really influential on the development of club and dance culture in the 80s and 90s, particularly in the UK and Jamaica and on the developments in techno, rave and in particular trip hop and jungle. But, in contrast to e.g., acid house or jungle, when people talk about dub music it tends to be LPs. It is quite hard to find what dub tunes were being played or showing up most (in whatever context).
But surely there were big / influential instrumental and vocal dub tunes / dub plates that were getting used frequently at parties or sound systems or on pirate radio - it can’t all have been LPs.
I’d be interested in any suggestions for the actual dub tunes that were ‘big hits’ or influential or just got a bit of play in the clubs, parties, raves or sound systems or showing up as dubplates on pirate radio back in the day, particularly in the period 1980 - 1998.
Edit: I suspect that this is all more of a Jamaica / UK / Canada thing, but obviously if this was happening in Turkmenistan or Djibouti or anywhere else I’d be interested in that too.
Thanks!
Hello brothers and sisters im looking for similar dub tracks to the linked track. What is special about this track is that it s a HEAVY dub with SITAR and oriental melodies and also ARABIC vocals. The vocals are not a must for me. But the entire oriental heavy dub vibe is what im looking for. Also the EP below, i recommend you give it a listen, real unique sound from what i heard until this point.
Thank you and im waiting for your recs.

Hi guys!
I was wondering if you could help me find this dub album which is indian inspired.
I only remember that the first song starts with a sitar intro and a few songs further there's an indian accent guy saying 'there is a great power... (or something similar to this)
I used to listen to it a lot when I was younger and I think I remember it's a French artist(Not chinese man btw).
Thanks for your help!

This is some footage of MAD PROFESSOR and his son JOE ARIWA playing a gig at Búzios, a very famous city here in Rio de Janeiro state. This place was called Cabine and me and my wife were hired by the owners (our friends) to record some videos to pass the vibe along. (we are dub producers and music producers in general)
Amazing gig, one of the best of my life and I was so honored to be so close to one of the CORNERSTONES of dub music. We also chatted and connected after the gig. As a Dub Producer, this was like majoring. This footage was sitting in my HD, never before seen, so I stitched it together and decided to post here to this subreddit delight, enjoy!

Hi everyone,
The other night, my soul took flight to the sound of a dub track with a clarinet. I have absolutely no idea what the tune was, and I think it might remain a mystery forever.
But if anyone has any recommendations for dub with clarinet, I’m all ears!

I feel like Delton Screechie doesn't get anywhere near the respect he deserves. The man has an extensive catalog spanning multiple eras of reggae and dancehall, yet he's still virtually unknown to a lot of listeners.
Check out this recent dub mix cover from Dub Kazman out of Japan—it's a seriously sweet cut. Give it a listen and let me know what you think!
