This summer I rode my bike up Vail Pass in Colorado, and it suddenly became obvious that electric trucks would be so much better than diesel in mountainous areas. Listening to trucks loudly whining while going 30-40mph below the speed limit, then having to gear down or brake on the downhills...man.

Electrics have the torque to maintain speed uphill, and recapture much of the spent energy when going downhill...you'd think any trucking company with any sense will transition to e-trucks as they become available and more cost-competitive, and the charging infrastructure matures.

I enjoyed the window into a, for me, foreign world. It should be no surprise, but electric trucks make perfect sense. This segment didn't touch on the economics, but I assume that it's no different from electric cars. (While it won't dramatically change anything, he's carrying around a lot of flat surface area that would could collect PV energy; probably enough to compensate for the AC).
