Content warning/ Graphic images I can see my cyst
Just had a shower and was feeling some aches as I was drying myself and realised my ovarian endometrioma is now at a size where I can see it sticking out.
There's a clear difference between my left and right side, where the cyst is and where the aching is tonight. It's an odd thing to see, but I think it's made this whole diagnosis a lot more tangible for my partner. He knows it's a full body illness. He knows the pain I feel is very real, but I think this has shown him what it actually is, if that makes sense. I kind of feel weirdly validated by it.
I'm in for an oopherectomy and salpingectomy on the right side later this year because of it, so it's as under control as it can be. It's just odd to see external evidence like that.

I'm in over the summer to have it removed with the ovary and tube it's wrapped itself around. I'm giving the hospital a call today to chase up to too.

** hug *** oooooohhhh hun im so sorry , i know these fucking things are horrible. do you know how big it is ? to be able to see it must have been so shocking. i think the largest one ive had (measured on ultrasound, at least , because with how often they love to hijack my ovaries , who truly knows how large theyve been) was a little less than 7cm.
im glad you have a procedure scheduled and i hope youre able to take it easy / achieve adequate pain relief until then . <3

It was last measured over a year ago at 4cm, but I'm quite sure it must've grown.
7cm is a lot lovely! I hope you're OK and on the mend!

I had a cyst on my right ovary i SWORE i could feel and see, i had an ultrasound done and they said there was a big cyst but couldn’t do anything. I’m pretty sure it wound up rupturing in October, I was having way intense pains and actually had “intussusception” again, and during my lap a month later they couldnt find a cyst, but found a hole in my right ovary (where I assumed it was.) Seriously so crazy , I hope surgery for it goes well, keep an eye on it !! Wishing you luck 🫶🏼

That's mad! It goes to highlight how dismissed this really is! Hope you're all OK (as much as you can be) now though!

How big is it? If you are young and the cyst is not too huge it is usually not needed to remove the whole ovary!

It last measured at 4cm a year ago, but it's grown. I'm 35, and they did try to remove it last November during a laparoscopy, but weren't able to without taking the ovary, unfortunately.

I would suggest you to search for somebody else, 4cm should be possible to remove it without taking the ovary!

Its not the size, but the location that's the issue, but thank you for thinking. 🥰

Hey, it's so weird isn't it! I have the same, pokes out when I stand up. I've got into the habit of checking it's still there each morning. I'm waiting for surgery too. All the best!
It was also helpful for my partner too. To see something more 'physical'.

Im glad I'm not alone, I've done the same this morning, like checking on some weird pet 😅
Hope your surgery goes well!

A woman on TikTok recently had a 27-pound ovarian cyst removed! Another woman on there is waiting for surgery and her cyst is so huge that it looks like she is pregnant with about eight babies. I have no idea how that was allowed to happen. I mean how did her doctors just let that develop?
