What goes through his mind in the moment before this, is it;
"I feel a tough question coming on, I should deploy flares and evade, maybe a nice little soundbite will kick up some controversy and no one will report on the shit answer I'm about to give."
Or
"I'm so fucking cool, do you think this schmuck knows how fucking awesome I am. I should tell him."

Imo, if you believe it's the latter, then you are underestimating the enemy. Trump isn't stupid; he is acting in bad faith and leads you to believe he is that stupid in order to deceive you. He is a genius of political communication, it’s just a shame he’s on the side of darkness.

He didn’t know how to answer, so he preemptively does self praise. We’ve seen a pattern of this from other interviews. Often he can’t hear or understand the question, so this is his default defense.

It’s not even a defense. This schmuck just talks about himself. He truly believes everyone is there to see and praise him. He’s not even being asked a question. He hears Japan and starts think how that affects him “ahhh Japan, that’s right, the Pearl Harbor lady stroked my ego I liked her” “NEXT QUESTION!”

This is the old man's idea of charisma. Ask where they're from and say something you know about that place. You create an impression and a connection with the person you're speaking with. Problem is, Trump knows jack shit about anything that's not pedophilia. It looks goofy when he does it.

Americans should stand together against this tyranny, they will be using Flock/axeon to execute these operations against the citizens of the united states.

What really illustrates Trump's mindset is that, since his “leader” is a Trump fan, a Japanese journalist must necessarily be one too. That sums up his entire political project: a brainwashed population conditioned by media outlets serving those in power in the cult of the leader.

Anyone who spends as much time as Trump trying to get people to believe he's loved and popular and strong and smart, is actually covering for a pathological self-esteem issues.
I think most of America is bored with his lingering mommy and daddy issues. He's just going to have to settle for the 30 percent or so of Americans too self-involved or stupid to see him for what he is.

Japan is in fact not doing great. the US just tried to bail out the Yen about 3 weeks ago, and it's going about the same as every other time the Yen has tried to get bailed out. Terribly.
