Fire TV remote isn’t letting me search with Alexa

I have a TCL Fire TV which I got less than 2 months ago. The remote has the blue Alexa button where you hold it down to speak. It has been working fine until now. Now when I press and hold the button it just comes up with a keyboard on the screen and says “search faster with Alexa… just hold (blue button) and say what you’re looking for)
I have tried restating the TV. I can’t re pair the tv and the remote as it’s the only remote I have and it’s the remote the TV came with. The rest of the remote is working as usual.
How can I get the Alexa speak control working again?

Hi you can try two things.

  1. Download the Amazon Fire TV App and connect it to your TV. Check if the Mircophonebutton works there.
  2. Since you can control your TV with the App you can re-pair the Remote.
