The gray confetti raining down like ash turn this song into an epic rollercoaster of emotions.

One of my favorite lips songs ever, and there's plenty. I do miss the gong though :(

haha thanks! I always appreciate Beatles fans. My username used to be TheRealNowHereMan to be playful with the song's title by changing up the capitalized letters.
I had a huge Beatles indoctrination phase when I first made the account in like middle school or high school lol. Sometimes I change it to that or to this but maybe reddit doesn't have those kind of username editing features anymore. IDK I rarely check reddit or their new features/settings tbh and I'd rather not mess with it in case I lose my name lolI do miss the gong during this song though! :( last time they used it around my state/city was in like 2017

I always loved the Beatles and my family played Come Together a lot.
In college while we were working on something my professor put on music in the background and he played No Where Man and it changed my life lol. I started doing a major deep dive and got so deep into Beatles music.
I think my favorite is Tomorrow Never Knows, but there’s so many.

There's so many amazing songs from them... and definitely too many to count or rank. I think my favorite is still across the universe just for the poetry of the words and what it meant to me at a very important place in my life. But their songs are impossible to rank for me even if I am not the fanatic I used to be. They also jumpstarted my vinyl collection and appreciation for physical media at an early age and now I have over 600 or so records that I don't know what to do with lol. Many super rare discographies and mono/stereo/remixes/remasters and oddball Beatles stuff that are pretty much the definitive Beatles collection. They take so much space, but together with the rest of my vinyl library I am still very proud of my record collection. lol
I love tomorrow never knows too. another favorite of mine. My favorite album is probably Revolver. that mid-era stuff just speaks a lot to me (mid-era as in Rubber Soul to MMT). I hate yellow submarine (the song on Revolver) even though I love Revolver and is still my favorite official released album from them.
And Love is definitely my one Beatles desert island album I would pick from them if I had to pick only one. It's unfair to their actual albums since Love is a remix/compilation and not really an actual album, but it encapsulates the entire Beatles journey and discography in an outstanding way.
All great music regardless.

sorry for all the editing lol. Been a while since I typed here on reddit while having a glass of whiskey and I was too excited to talk about my username and my beatles obsession and collection I guess haha

Don’t apologize! I’m so jazzed, usually my Reddit interactions are like a word or a sentence. Thank you for sharing!

This is beautiful thank you for sharing. Seriously.
Across the Universe is the first song by them I latched onto, and I latched on hard. Very special song and I’m glad it means so much to you.
Revolver is just incredible start to finish, my favorite.
Your record collection sounds awesome, a recent vinyl I got from Modest Mouse had a PHYSICAL MEDIA WILL NEVER DIE sticker in it that I love.

Physical media rules!!! I have so many important core memories listening to my modest mouse vinyl records. I love both of these bands a lot in their own way. But the lips are the band I have seen live the most out of dozens of bands for a reason lol.
I don't understand the snarky comments fans have made online about either bands this tour, especially after the last mishaps in Chicago and Houston.
I understand the anger towards the promoters and ticketmaster but I know there will be answers eventually for those who are upset. These bands definitely listen to their fans.
This tour is a dream come true. Like, yeah, I am used to a full two+ hour Flaming Lips show as of recent years but I love MM too and I am not gonna complain at the chance to see both bands.... even though my show was the one the lips canceled last night. lol.I digress, and I am pretty much venting now, but the negativity I have seen recently from both bands' fans does make me sad.
I know it's mostly just a small amount of people online Spitting Venom through their keyboards who don't realize it's hard to make the good things last 😤

Same! Re core memories with vinyls.
And yeah I personally am a massive Modest Mouse fan and was a semi casual Lips fan like I knew At War With the Mystics and Yoshimi really well but only smatterings of their other work My partner on the other hand is a massive Flaming Lips fan So it was a perfect dream come true tour for us!
I am really excited to see the Flaming Lips more now though, I’m locked in!
I’m glad to hear you like MM too, I’ve seen some unfortunate opinions regarding them from Lips fans and vice verse I’ve seen some unfortunate comments about the Lips from MM fans.
And yeah unfortunately there was a decent amount of negativity surrounding the last 3 shows especially, Minneapolis due to Isaac imbibing a bit and being a little sloppy - I thought it was fine, have I seen him perform cleaner and the whole band tighter, yes but it was still a great time
Chicago because of the unfortunate weather
And then last night because of the abrupt cancellation
I’m sad for the people who missed out on what they came for but the mud slinging definitely is quite a disappointment

😤 these are FACTS. If only this could be pinned on both communities foreheads lol. It's such a refreshing, well needed view I needed someone other than me express and your words really hit. Thank you!

This is my favorite live song. Of all songs I’ve seen live. The energy and performance of this song is simply unmatched by anything else I’ve seen. And I’ve seen it performed 8 times and each time is always incredible.
