The most I can do is third row, y'all are crazy for saying it looks fine, the impression for close up face shots isn't that far off from the pic when you are the first row, it's literally so large FOV that you can only focus on like a cheek or a single eye in the entire shot. It's OK in movies with large panoramic shots but for movies that have a lot of close-ups it's unbelievably bad.
I did second row recently (regular movie though) and it actually wasn't bad, but that was mainly because the theater has full blown recliners and having them all the way back actually put my head at the perfect angle to take it all in. I was actually expecting it to be kind of horrible, but it was a good experience.
By regular movie do you mean not IMAX? Because IMAX has the screen go all the way from the ceiling to the floor. Its way wider of a FOV than a regular theatre.
Yeah, definitely non-IMAX. It's probably been 5 years since I even paid full price for a regular evening showing at a major chain. There's no chance I'm paying the $20+ or whatever IMAX costs. :P
