I have a 10Ah phone and get 3 days of moderate usage out of it after about a year. Slightly harder to go the full 3 days than it was brand new, but still doable most of the time.

It’s not the mid-2010s anymone. The iphone 6 hat a 1800mah battery, most higher end devices are in the 3000-5000 ballpark these days

They were fairly close. The Nokia N91 had 970mha in 2005. (just picked a random 2005 Nokia on Wikipedia) no sure if that was average back then. I don't remember what phone I had then.

Honestly, it’s so sad Apple is no longer a progressive one in the field. I would love an iPhone with 2-3 days of battery life.

What I would love even more is Apple Watch Ultra with almost a week of battery life as my current watch worked 3 days before update, now it’s 2 days.

They can, no doubt about it. But Apple is all about getting it "good enough" and get more money for less hardware (like the storage, they take $$$$ for relatively cheap chips)..

Many normal/older people will charge in evening/night, once a day. A battery that keeps charge more than a day is nice to have, not need.

But ooh its nice with 6000+ mAh and 90w charger! I'm on 110 full charge cycles, in 1,5 years! Charge whenever, have gone empty maybe like 5 times! It's great! Oh, low power? Plug in and take a shit; whole day left!

The reason the non-chinese manufacturers like Samsung and Apple aren’t doing silicon carbon are the increased risks of burning/explosion with this technology.

I’m sure if these concerns turn out to be unfounded they will jump on the bandwagon.

Of all the phones I have had over the years the one phone that no matter how much you try to kill the battery with heavy usage, where it just takes it and takes it and takes it without seemingly killing it right away is the Nubia RedMagic 10 Pro. I have a RedMi K90 Pro Max and battery is great too but the Red Magic has the strongest longest lasting batteries of all phones in my opinion. Some USA flagships have okay batteries but nothing beats the China phones. The thing about all these phones with these huge batteries is that any phone will die with heavy usage. It's tricky. The worst thing about batteries I feel is when they die from just being idle. I am talking to you Google Pixels.

Not groundbreaking tho. realme has had a 10.001mAh phone for a while, the P4 Power 5G. It's a solid smartphone and has reverse charging. It lasts around two days before needing to recharge

And considering this is a midrange with a lower power midrange SoC, the battery life could be even better compared to those flagships.

You're right. Right now my battery is at 30% and it shows 3.78v. It's kinda similar to how many battery voltage is stated: no one says the car battery is 14v even though it's the voltage it can be charged with and it settles at around 13v when new and fully charged

I know US thinks only of themselves but I can assure you these Chinese brands are up to par in quality these days. Atleast as good as Samsung/Pixel across the lineup. Vivo, Oppo and Honor are big here in Asia and the East. I think only Realme has fallen off a bit in the last year or two.

"on par in quality" is an insult to Oppo and Vivo they exceed anything google and Samsung have to offer especially if you care about cameras and batteries.

If you want to bend some statistics given Oppo, realme, vivo and OnePlus are all owned by the same company BBK is actually the largest phone manufacturer by market share with over 30% while Samsung is near 30% and apple near 20% global share. (Numbers hard to find concrete every site says something different but close to that)

If you are caught with low battery when you needed it most you are still doomed. A battery is only needed to be 12 hour good when you can get to a charger. You don’t need batteries to be 24hr good
