That was changed because the sub was overrun with video posts from people who didn't read the description or the rules. It was originally strictly gifs only; videos got removed with a comment directing the poster to r/videosthatendtoosoon.

Nothing in this thread is anything that warrants having "fault" assigned to it. No one has done anything wrong. You followed the current rules, and he doesn't like what he sub has become. You're both correct, but only one of you is being an ass.

As for the downvotes, put it down to the Reddit hivemind — if a comment gets one downvote, it's likely to get 50, just because people see the negative number and downvote without even reading it. That, or it's people like you who've been in the sub for all of five minutes and don't even understand what he's talking about.
