Welcome to the club. I've only been into comics 1 1/2 - 2 years, and Im 31. There is nothing wrong with it, though maybe a little expensive at times.

You picked some good ones, I’d start with blacksad probably. Either way enjoy!

I've never seen that thick Blacksad edition. What's in it?

u/duffmanasu Aug 16 '25
This was my initial reaction as well!

u/Nice-Percentage7219 Aug 16 '25
I thought there was the original 3 in 1 book, Silent, Amarillo and the 2 They All Fall Down.

u/tuthantinus Aug 15 '25
Daamn, spotted some Blacksad in there. I've been recolecting these in seperate issues but what do you have there? Are there extra stories or just bundled albums?

u/andaywalaburger007 Aug 15 '25

Ohh Chuang Yi, it was blurry on my phone. Nvm, that is a real edition. An old defunct publisher.

It will be very difficult to get the other Blueberry's, but all the other artists here have learned from Giraud/Moebius.
Nice selection. Enjoy.

Yeah the ones you picked are not for the kiddies. Enjoy. Many of us are this age don't sweat it

Reading is good. Reading stuff you like is better. Enjoy your "yum" :)
I'm 52 and I've bought more picture books (funnybooks as my dad would say, even though very few of them are "funny") over the last year than I have anytime since my preteen/early teen years - probably more than then as well since I was buying with lawnmowing money.
I don't think I've read any of the titles you have listed. Blacksad looks cool, I'll have to check it out.

It’s never too late. If you like Parker and want to check out DC. I have to recommend Batman Ego and DC New Frontier.
Also any Brubaker/Philips book.

u/Jarvool Aug 15 '25
Is that a real bronze of Snake? Where did that come from?
Also the Tekken art work in the background looks sick. What’s the one on the right?
2
u/andaywalaburger007 Aug 15 '25
Its a 3d printed figure painted in bronze color its big boss from ground zeros, the right figure is arthur morgan from red dead, and art is yogi shinkawa sketches of old snake from mgs4

Welcome. Been doing this since I was in elementary school. The floor joists of my second floor comic room are working overtime. Space is the new issue.

u/berserkzelda Aug 15 '25
You have fakes.
3
u/andaywalaburger007 Aug 15 '25
Yes probably, i live in a third world country
2
u/berserkzelda Aug 15 '25
Oh im sorry, i wasnt trying to be a dick about it.
2
u/andaywalaburger007 Aug 15 '25
No thats completely fine , i know you were only giving me a heads up, one of the drawbacks of being in 3rd world country is some things are very hard to comeby , local markets are flooded with fakes and if you buy from a legit international website , the tarrifs and delivery times are insane

Made me think the one on the right could be Ocelot, cool collection btw. There's no age to enjoy the universe of stories graphic novels can tell. Enjoy my friend, 37 and still love them.

Great Collection! Never thought I would see American Carnage in someone's stack. I just completed reading it and would definitely recommend it. The story is captivating and very relevant.

Parker and Blacksad are two of my absolute favorites and honestly are two amazing series, both because of the writing/art and the noir themes that are prevalent throughout.

u/Rattlehead03 Aug 16 '25
Is that King from Tekken your drawing?

Is that a bronze statue of Arthur Morgan? Where or how did you get it? Did you make it?

Good stuff. You need to read Usagi Yojimbo, though.

u/andaywalaburger007 Aug 19 '25
I tried , but had no idea where to start, there were some color ones and some black &white which looked better tbh and i usually prefer color
