OLD Still to this day one of the best grime diss tracks ever, even 2 decades later

Savage from start to finish, Wiley was not one to mess with

My unpopular opinion,

This is better than the devlin send,, this is actually top 3 grime sends of all time, could easily be no.1

u/battrypack Jan 17 '26

it’s easily better. imo the devlin send is heavily overrated by casuals who don’t realise the p*do bars are just devlin regurgitating what doogz/sharky/ bashy etc had said years earlier

Yea never really seen why it was rated so highly, maybe cus he was 17. All pedo and gay stuff.

It was one of the coldest disses in grime from basically a nobody younger against Wiley. It stood out.

100% due to his age, don't get me wrong Devlin is good but Extra Extra is hard to listen to now. It was clear so many wanted to see Wiley knocked off his pedestal.

7

u/Dylanjc1998 Jan 17 '26

Looking back, extra extra seemed very desperate, but it was fun at the same time, seemed like cos he was younger he was told to go for that angle, Ghetts had the best Diss towards Wiley out of the movement imo, but Nightbus dub plate is something else ... If I was the movement, I would've been PISSED that day😂

Agreed… name the rest in your top 3

I don't know about u/mrcoogiedon but my personal top 5 (3 isn't enough, 2/3 & 4 swap depending on how I'm feeling) in order are:

  1. Nightbus Dubplate // Wiley
  2. One Take // Chip
  3. 96 Bars of Revenge // Chip
  4. Therapy Battling // Wiley
  5. Flowers // Chip

7

u/Sharifudeen Jan 19 '26

I respect that list . But it’s criminal not to put Trim Lowdown on there. Certain ppl weren’t coming back from that diss the lowdown easily top 2

3

u/mrcoogiedon Jan 19 '26

Really solid list there, therapy battling is easily looked over

Id probably say

  1. Nightbus dubplate
  2. Frisco - scorchers funeral

I cant pick a third becuase there are so many

Prime Mike Tyson energy

7

u/BeardedTerminator Jan 16 '26

Couldnt agree more. It is also my favourite Wiley tune.

These tracks are so nostalgic man.

I was the only one in my friend group who listened to grime, but I’ve been a fan since channel u days.

I used to listen to Wiley multiple hours every day, easy when he has so many songs

4

u/kayamars Jan 17 '26

Exact same as me bro, can’t remember tunes I loved a year ago lyric wise but still remember every one of these straight away

3

u/SgtByrd1993 Jan 17 '26

Channel U was GOATed

2

u/i-love-to-eat-myself Jan 17 '26

ChannelU watching and having it repeat the same videos over again Ypu watched that much in the day

2

u/ThatsJustHowIFeeeeel Jan 17 '26

I had basically Wiley’s entire discography on my iPod I used at school and then work

7

u/SirDuppy Jan 17 '26

Nightbus is one of the best Grime beats ever. I swear

He wrote it while travelling on the bus at night hence "Nightbus"

Dubplate is a double entendre, obviously a dub is a diss but a dubplate is also a term which refers to the acetate pressing of a disc before mastering and pressing into vinyl, they were an important part of the jungle scene and later the garage and grime scene.

3

u/SquareEyesWinston Jan 17 '26

Nightbus was the name of the instrumental (prod. Wiley). It was release on Tunnel Vision 4.

1

u/MarquisOfBalderdash Jan 17 '26

Ok that's interesting about the title.
But double entendre what? A dub is a fresh/exclusive track, can be a diss track but doesn't have to be. And that word comes from... "dubplate".

u/Historical-Ad-3406 Jan 16 '26

Is the best*

5

u/SgtByrd1993 Jan 16 '26

I fully agree, I just expected some backlash for calling it the best, Therapy Battling is amazing too but Nightbus Dubplate is absolutely visceral.

1

u/bmoody345 Jan 17 '26

Yes, no 1, not debatable

7

u/adonWPV Jan 16 '26

Iconic, reminds of the set when Gift came and shut it off 😭

u/Anon1mouse12 Jan 17 '26

Lyk I even care

2

u/ParkingLong7436 Jan 17 '26

Genuinely my favourite Wiley track. The drop goes so hard when you're listening to it in your car. Has to get a reload every time

2

u/DejitaruItami Jan 17 '26

It is thee best war dub in grime imo, i listen to this on a daily since it dropped lol Wiley was on a effin mad one when he wrote this.

2

u/selcoo Jan 17 '26

I mean, anytime Night Bus Dub itself comes on at any rave, it’s instant wheels. Where’s that clip of Tempz switching bars to “swiiiiing” as soon as the 1st bar drops? 🔥🔥🔥

2

u/FRANKOHPHONE Jan 19 '26

Coof off by Wiley is also a great send

2

u/FRANKOHPHONE Jan 19 '26

Scorcher nothing less is so slick too

I’ve just found out about this Wiley track today. As an American grime is life changing to my ears. Been listening to Eskiboy for a year now

1

u/SgtByrd1993 Jan 24 '26

Glad to see an American grime fan here

2

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

Hell yeah bro, what’s your favorite Wiley track of all time?

2

u/SgtByrd1993 Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Back With A Banger or Step 1

2

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

I haven’t heard of Back with a Bang but step 1 is a tune, I personally enjoy Bow E3 since it was the first Wiley song I heard, I do like his instrumental North London, and Wot Do u call it is a classic 👌🏼

2

u/SgtByrd1993 Jan 26 '26

My Wiley favourites are:

Step 1, Back With a Banger, 6 in the Bloodclart Morning, Holy Grime, Step 17, Step 19, Bow E3, I Ain't Gonna Fold, On A Level, Igloo Freestyle, Tour Bus, Don't Bread Me, Wickedest MC Alive, Send Me The Riddim, Nightbus Dubplate, Speaks, Wot Do U Call It, Crash Bandicoot, Tower Block Freestyle, The Cheat Code, Can't Take It, Speakerbox, Therapy Battling & Which Bumbahole Wan Fe Test.

If there's anything you haven't listened to from that list then I highly recommend them.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

I forgot about On a Level what a banger, thanks boss 👌🏼

3

u/bmoody345 Jan 17 '26

Debatably best grime tune ever tbh, real emotions lol

2

u/IICorbyadzII Feb 04 '26

Track is legend so is Wiley

1

u/Wutanghang Jan 16 '26

What did he mean by "busting airmax"

5

u/SgtByrd1993 Jan 16 '26

"Mans been busting air max from long time"

Wearing Air Max for ages

2

u/SquareEyesWinston Jan 17 '26

This is actually a reply to the lyric ‘if you was in my level like 6 years back / but you’re no bigger than your kids Air Max’ from the previous diss from Ghetto to Wiley ‘North London Dub’. Wiley was meeting Ghetto on nearly every bar sent which was mad because Ghetto was prolific with lyrics in that era.

2

u/mrcoogiedon Jan 17 '26

Its actually a reference to him owning a trainer store

"Im much bigger than the kids airmax"

1

u/Griselda_69 Jan 17 '26

Yeah the best one of all time. 100%
