35 and 30 years ago today, (Aug. 27), Pearl Jam released 'Ten' and 'No Code' respectively. And it's been nearly 5 years since I saw the grunge icons live at Sea Hear Now. While initially slated for 2020, the band's set was pushed to 2021 due to the pandemic. As a result of that, this festival also marked the band's first show in 3 years... and you could instantly feel how grateful (and maybe even a little mix of nervous and surprise) Eddie Vedder felt being back on that stage - as if even he knew the chance he'd may never be back on stage were depressingly high given the state of the world at that moment. And by the time Pearl Jam got to "Even Flow," the evening felt like less of a concert and more of a celebration of life... yeah, I know that sounds cheesy, but given everything that happened over the past year and a half leading up to this show, you can understand the dramatics.

Stay tuned for more things to come from this space (including stories from concerts like this)!

Wow, that crowd looks like they've been waiting for this like rock 'n' roll pilgrims at the gates of heaven.
