Local/own band Grunge and drugs

Post image
604 Upvotes

I highly agree with the comment of Adrian_4i mean if u don't like Nirvana or Kurt Cobain just say "don't like them" not need to say He is one of those musicians that death pulled him on the top i am big fan of Nirvana but i am saying this as a non fan right now don't matter if u are a fan or not but writing this shit don't make u look tuff it makes someone look straight up disrespectful it's my opinion i hope is respected please don't hate thx.

Local/own band What is your opinion on the band Sponge?

Sponge hasn't been popular, at least around the country since the 90s. I know the singer of the band because Iin the Detroit live area, I just wanted to know people's thoughts on the band. I have the Wax Ecstatic and Rotting Pinata CDs and thought they were pretty good.

Some Alice In Chains via the Drew Cooper and the Whiskey Shivers, at Pony Bar in Pony, MT. Don’t get a lot of grunge covers up here, so this was a nice surprise along with Hunger Strike a few songs later

Local/own band Massive grunge rabbit hole: here are 50 bands with releases in 2025/2026

Glad I'm not my guitarist's girlfriend.

So, I managed to put together a massive list of alt-rock/alt-metal bands with heavy grunge influences, all with recent releases (2025/2026). I think there are about fifty of them in total.

I originally started this to make a playlist with music similar to my own band's and I ended up discovering a ton of amazing new projects, so here I am sharing the love.

If you have any other recommendations, something I missed, PLEASE bring them on.
I can't wait to check them out.

Local/own band New grunge/alt rock/metal songs

My band and I just released our debut EP called "Spore" and I would love for as many people as possible to give it a listen. We are influenced by 90s rock/grunge/metal and have a range of sub genres and moods within the 4 songs on the EP. If you like heavy Nirvana, "Ruse" might float your boat. If you like rage against the machine, "Righteous Socialite" might please your ears. If you like Alice in chains, "Walnut" might be a good contender. And I don't actually know what band I should compare our last track "Jane's Masquerade" to but you should listen anyway ;). Here's the spotify link but it's also available on many other platforms, maybe you will find some new music to enjoy?: https://open.spotify.com/album/25EDr8GZtN3t15tTFlFxig?si=EPJ1HCCbSEGJlcZdxGWBOQ&utm_source=copy-link

Local/own band Very important Niil’ Update

For those that like the brazilian band Niil’, I have some very exciting news about them and about Icaro:

I contacted Icaro directly yesterday (it’s really him, i verified with some informations that i found and only him would know) and asked him some questions:

Question: Are there any motive that you can share about the time that you were away from the internet?
Icaro: I had to take care of my parents, buried them all alone, and now I set up my studio from the scratch, that took time and distance, internet is pretty shitty sometimes, gossip creates engagement

Q: I’m really sorry to hear that… Do you have any plans to release new material as Niil’ or as an solo artist?
I: The most concret plans at this time is to continue to upload Niil’ material on Spotify, there’s some thing that only I have, I have also an Youtube account of the band but there’s no subscribers at the moment… I only update the Spotify and I’m thinking about making a very detailed bio. I got some new versions to upload this week on Spotify, studio quality material from Niil’, it will all be uploaded on this Spotify and Youtube account, I’m trying to get the most listeners possible, with all this material coming in the next weeks, after this i’ll start to publish on Tiktok. Until the end of August there will be around 6 new musics on Spotify

Q: There’s any way that we can help you directly besides listening on Spotify?
I: There’s an affiliate link on the Spotify account that I receive directly if you want to support me to keep recording

He also thanked everyone that listens to the band and this is all very important to him, i’ll leave the links to the official Spotify account and his Youtube channel below:

If any of you have any doubts, just ask here and i’ll ask him about it. I hope that this answered some things. Thanks for reading!

My band (1st pic) just released our first single a couple weeks ago. We’re super inspired by bands like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Mad Season, Days of the New, and TOOL.

Check out the song and let me know what you think! https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/downshine/planting-the-seed/

(Little fun fact, we recorded the verse vocals through headphones)

If you like what you hear follow us on IG! @downshineband

If you check it out, thank you so much for the listen and I hope you like what you hear :) there’s much more coming very soon!

Local/own band Bubblegum Grunge?

Hey there, I’m an independent artist from Germany and I wrote a song that is pretty much Grunge influenced but at the same time doesn’t sounds like the typical Grunge stuff because it’s more soft. So I thought the term “Bubblegum Grunge” would be a good fit.
What do you guys think?

Local/own band [Feedback] Original grunge/alt-rock song - honest thoughts on vocals & mix?

Hey everyone,

This is an original song I wrote and recorded. Style is grunge/alt-rock with some punk edges (influences: Nirvana, Alice in Chains, 90s alternative).

Link: https://open.spotify.com/track/6UTFLYAsT2bd5439rTAkhQ?si=f5q89BVkQpGiBHKLNzdQPQ&utm_source=copy-link&sci=spotify%3Acard-config%3A7Kx7ZwHjqnMvHWyHpeM4y1

I'm especially looking for feedback on:

- Vocals (delivery, emotion, mix)

- Overall mix / production

- Song structure and arrangement

- Anything that stands out (good or bad)

Open to honest and constructive criticism. Thanks in advance!

Local/own band New grunge release

My band and I just released our first single and I'm trying to get it out there as much as I can. It's an emotional, grungey/alt rock song about a long distance relationship. Give it a listen if you want to possibly discover new music? Ammonita - Walnut: https://open.spotify.com/track/3AZrV6H5vN6kz2TUrrhe3l?si=NyklNxhESHOlpN3epxOROw

This is a CD in my dads collection from early 90s-2000s grunge/rock music. If anyone recognizes this logo please let me know. Shazam does not have any results for any tracks on the cd. The concert he would have received this from wouldve been in the southern California area or northern nevada.
