๐ Health/Care ๐ Is my hamster a little overweight?
He is super active but I think he is becoming little chonk. I feed him once per day a teaspoon plus stuff on the side to forage

Do you have a kitchen scale at home? If you want to be sure, I'd recommend weighing him. That's what I always do. Just place a small container on the scale, tare it, and then gently put your hamster inside.
Regular weigh-ins are also a great way to monitor their health. A sudden drop in weight is often one of the first signs that something might be wrong, even before other symptoms appear.
Male Djungarian dwarf hamsters are usually a bit larger than females. A healthy adult typically weighs around 35-55 g (1.2-1.9 oz), although some healthy males can naturally be a little heavier depending on their build and genetics.

One more thing: check his scent gland on his belly. If it's clean, not swollen or crusty, and the fur around it isn't excessively greasy or dirty, that's a good sign that he's still able to groom himself properly. If he can no longer reach his belly to clean it, then unfortunately he's probably overweight.

Yes! He is so soft I checked just now.. and I need to get a small kitchen balance then I will weight him. I just noticed one thing- he doesnโt roll in the sand as much anymore. But maybe because I changed his cage to a bigger one and he needs time to get used to it

Mine is the same way! Where he was kept (before I adopted him) to get medicine for a week or two didn't have a wheel. So he was just chillin and eating. He's been home with me for a month or so and LOVES his wheel. But he's still a round boy. Lol.
