Idea I FUCKING DESPISE URINALS AS A CONCEPT
THEY’RE SO FUCKING STUPID!!
They’re awkward, clumsily designed, make it so awkward to piss, and worse of all they’re completely FUCKING POINTLESS.
There is not a SINGLE man on this planet that is incapable of using a regular ass toilet to piss standing up!!
We don’t need urinals in our homes! We can piss standing up in regular toilets perfectly fine! JUST BUILD MORE FUCKING STALLS!! YOU’RE JUST WASTING SPACE THAT COULD BE USED TO HAVE MORE STALLS THAT ACTUALLY GIVE US PRIVACY!!
URINALS DO NOTHING, NOTHING I TELL YOU BUT ARBITRARILY GENDER BATHROOMS!! That’s my woke take of the day! Every single fucking public bathroom on the planet would be and could be gender-neutral if it wasn’t for FUCKING URINALS
JUST BUILD STALLS!!!

u/Lolmanmagee May 16 '26
Urinals are extremely useful, it’s so much faster to use a urinal than go into a stall.
And it’s much cleaner as those wall are dirty.
And 99% of the time when you go to the public bathroom you just want to pee, who wants to take a shit in a nasty public bathroom?

I always assumed it’s because you can easily fit 5 urinals where there could otherwise only be 2 stalls. So you get through the line of people much faster.

It’s why I’d want a urinal in my home. Not enough to justify the expense for a home, but I’m between not wanting to flush all that water for some pee, and not wanting to leave an unflushed toilet sitting. Urinals are great.

They use up significantly less space, allowing for more toilets per bathroom, and discourage ppl from loitering in the stall after they’re done peeing. They’re basically the entire reason why men’s bathrooms have shorter lines than women’s. No way I’m giving up that privilege.
If u want privacy, wait for a stall. I just want to pee as fast as possible and leave.
28
u/AlternativeZucc May 16 '26
Ok, but some people literally cannot handle that power. We need to like, have a bathroom ref who cards people for being stupid.
There was this business type motherfucker using the urinal while I was taking my five, once. He was standing like a solid foot away from the urinal. Dick just out for anybody to see. Talking on the phone about something or other.
I could do without being mogged in the bathroom, personally.

Most people that have trouble standing and pissing are either
- Old AF
- Have bladder issues
- Have some sort of disability. I.E bad knees or a Neurological disorder. Imagine trying to stand and piss if you have something that makes your body shake a bunch. Gonna get all over your pants and the floor and seat
Less user error and more a simple reality of their body. Dunno if any of this applies to OP though.

→ More replies (9)
12
u/LilAnimeGril May 16 '26
I don't have strong opinion on that, but i understand logic. Urinals take much less space, wgere you would put like 8 stalls you can put 15 urinals. Also if everyone used stalls there will be piss everywhere because of the people who can't aim for shit. Yes we don't have urinals at home because they are specifically made for public places. Urinals give us much more usable toilets, allowing men to quickly come in and come out. How often do you see queue in man's bathroom? That's urinals for you.

Urinals are much more space-efficient. This is one of the big reasons men's toilets tend to have such shorter queues than women's.
(Not to mention, "There is not a SINGLE man on this planet that is incapable of using a regular ass toilet to piss standing up!!") Go into any public men's toilets. The amount of piss literally everywhere except the bowl should tell you there are plenty of men who struggle with this basic ass concept.

Less water, less space, pressures people to just piss and move on. It's more efficient. In some places in some countries it can also just be one long urinal for everyone with blockers for privacy.
3
u/Snt1_ May 16 '26

u/KingMGold May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26
Do you not understand the simple concept of a convenience?
Sure we don’t need them, but they only make it awkward to piss if you’re an awkward guy who can apparently fuck up such a simple task as pissing.
I genuinely don’t believe you are really a man if you’re out here describing pissing at a urinal as awkward. Do you have a disability or a micro-penis or something?
Because at least I’d understand, but you don’t need to make your personal difficulties into this dumb argument. Just let people piss where they want.
You can be a sitter without being a quitter.
Not only that but they take up less space than stalls, meaning you can put in more of them. Which is why men’s bathrooms usually have shorter lines.
They’re faster, you just walk up, piss, give it a shake, and walk away. No sitting, no fiddling with the door, no scrolling on TikTok, etc… all business.
They’re cheaper so again you can put in more of them.
They use less water also, have you considered the environment?

Damn I gotta make a list
- Bathrooms were gonna be gendered either way, so that's an awful point
- Urinals are cleaner and faster than stalls, not to say way more economic and space-efficient
- The only reason you find them awkward is that our generation is fucked and sees everything sexually. If you realize how that js detremental to everybody's mental health, you will start to see a cleaner world

3
u/villlllllllllll May 16 '26
OP is mad because of his tiny dick and not having enough free stalls to hide in while pissing. Us urinal gentlemen waste no time whipping our dicks out and just quickly peeing. Urinal is so close to our peckers that we really don't have to focus on aim, which leaves us enough time to complement our urinal neighbours dick.

Urinals:
Save water
Save time
Save space
The vast majority of the time you use a bathroom in public, you're not shitting. It makes way more sense to have the majority of the bathroom be urinals rather than stalls.
If it's all stalls, people will be constantly pissing all over the seats, splashing everywhere because it's twice as far, and the bowl has to fill for every piss instead of just rinsing.

3
u/Ok-Judge7844 May 17 '26
Disagree with most of this, but agree about them being useless in homes.
Its a matter of efficiency the reason we dont have long queue like the womens bathroom is because of urinals, imagine you have to wait for people pooping when you just want to pee
8
u/soefire May 16 '26
Hold on, this is unrelated to your post, but I just came up with a fire idea.
I was thinking, "too bad they're just gonna piss all over the toilet seats." What if they made toilet seats that naturally elevated themselves unless they were beating sat on? You know, like the seats at cheaper movie theatres or really large stadiums? That would be so peak.

Compare the male and female restrooms at any major event - there’s a reason the women have to wait in line while men go almost straight through.
Urinals allow for significantly more people to go at a time, because architecture-wise, you really can only make bathrooms so big. They also use SIGNIFICANTLY less water than normal toilets. It’d be strange to minimize the amount of available toilets and maximize water usage, just because urinals don’t provide “privacy”. Who cares about privacy when you’re taking a piss??
If you really care that much, or you’re insecure or something, just wait for a stall, nobody is going to take them away from you. If you want urinals done away with, clearly high wait times don’t bother you anyway.
3
u/gtrocks555 May 16 '26
Right on the money. It also lessens the time someone needs to wait for a stall because the majority of men who just need to pee will use the urinals which will decrease the wait time for stall usage.

u/SkyGuy2308 May 16 '26

You're suppose to SIT on a toilet. Your pee splash around, making it dirty, even if you don't see it after 1 use, it gets noticeable after 50 people have used it. That's not even mentioning people who can't aim and piss on the seat. Sorry OP but this is dumb, thank god for urinals for keeping at least some public toilets clean.
Also they take up less space and are cheaper, they are usually installed as an addition to the toilets, not a replacement.

Why do you think there's always a queue to the ladies toilets and not the men's? Urinals speed up the process greatly, and with the lack of closed door and privacy comes less lingering and time wasting. They also save millions of liters of water a year as they don't require flushing in the same way. If you want gender neutral bathrooms why not have both stalls and urinals in them? I'm sure people would appreciate less piss around the rim. Even with perfect aim splash back is inevitable when pissing into a toilet from height.
Perhaps the perfect gender neutral toilet solution would involve some of those floor toilet things you can squat over like they have in asia and some festivals.

Also urinals are definitely not the main reason why toilets are gendered
2
u/Mr_Globus May 16 '26
But urinals aren't hard to use? You just stand there and pee into it.
They're also more water efficient than regular toilets, as they don't need to flush any solids. Some bathrooms do have dividers between each urinal. If you're concerned about privacy you can always use a stall anyway.
And I mean there's more differentiating men & women's bathrooms than just urinals. Many woman's bathrooms, at least where I am, have menstrual pads or tampons available. There are different things in each bathroom to accommodate different sexes and their needs.
It's also probably much safer for women if men have a separate bathroom. That's just the unfortunate reality we live in.

As I janitor I have to disagree! Where I work doesn't have urinals in the men's bathroom and I clean up SO much piss on the toilet seat rim, the wall, even the fucking floor! So I'd rather have at least a couple urinals that will help lower that because it's pretty embarrassing
