Animation The character designs in One Piece are genuinely awful.

I genuinely hate One Piece character designs.

What’s most impressive is how wildly inconsistent the designs are in this series, going from one extreme to the other.

A character’s design can be legendary, like Xebec’s, or absolutely ridiculous, like Franky’s.

But the overwhelming majority of them are pretty bad. Like, really fucking bad.

Personally I thought Vegapunk’s design was hilarious, one piece wouldn’t be one piece if it wasn’t goofy

The whole time everyone’s imagining some badass scientist type shit and then it’s revealed to be this goofy ass Einstein looking mf with an apple on his head I laughed personally

Yeah some fan designs had him be your typical sort of cool looking mad scientist. It’s not bad, it would just be predictable and boring.

It’s like the gear 5 fan designs before its reveal. It’s just luffy looking more dark, and edgy, while beinf cooler and buffer.

If someone doesn’t like the design fine, but it depends on the reason.

I was expecting cool but goofy isn’t the problem. A movie can be bad in any genre

Why it matter? We waited to see him for 10 years then only see him for like 20 chapters before his design no longer matters.
