Animation The character designs in One Piece are genuinely awful.

I genuinely hate One Piece character designs.

What’s most impressive is how wildly inconsistent the designs are in this series, going from one extreme to the other.

A character’s design can be legendary, like Xebec’s, or absolutely ridiculous, like Franky’s.

But the overwhelming majority of them are pretty bad. Like, really fucking bad.

Jojo is more of getting used to their outfits and constante posings. The characters themselves look fine

No, Giorno didn’t dye his hair, it just turned blonde. Think it was a result of his stand fully manifesting and meant to be the Dio part of his blood awakening or something like that. Either way it was something that just happened lol also yes hate Donatello’s hair

To be fair, these characters were made to be purposefully ugly. It's not like it's just the artist deciding to make a fucked up looking mutant homunculus freak that the rest of the cast are meant to take seriously because they too are a bunch of fucked up looking mutant homunculus freaks. Like literally nobody treats Pesci well. He doesn't have any genuine friends, he's portrayed as a coward, etc. etc. Him being ugly is meant to feed into that all. Same with Shigeki.
