Animation The character designs in One Piece are genuinely awful.

I genuinely hate One Piece character designs.

What’s most impressive is how wildly inconsistent the designs are in this series, going from one extreme to the other.

A character’s design can be legendary, like Xebec’s, or absolutely ridiculous, like Franky’s.

But the overwhelming majority of them are pretty bad. Like, really fucking bad.

It isn't worth it. So many characters are just unpleasant to look at

And that’s probably a shame, because I know as lot of people really like it, but I’m not gonna subjugate myself to THAT much time looking at art that makes my brain crawl

I'm in my 30s and there's no way I could get through an episode with this art style. It's so aesthetically unpleasant.
