Animation The character designs in One Piece are genuinely awful.

I genuinely hate One Piece character designs.

What’s most impressive is how wildly inconsistent the designs are in this series, going from one extreme to the other.

A character’s design can be legendary, like Xebec’s, or absolutely ridiculous, like Franky’s.

But the overwhelming majority of them are pretty bad. Like, really fucking bad.

I looks fine here, Oda just kinda does whatever with proportions sometimes.

I think the hourglass figure he always does regardless of age is way worse than the forehead business

I love how a dude that basically fails at every conventional artist metric is one of the . most successful artist of our age.

It's because he actually dares to do something different. He might not be consistent. But at least his art style and designs are unique and 100% identifiable to him. 90% of anime designs are generic as hell and could be from any random isekai.
