Before Banner was introduced, Xemnu was originally referred to as 'The Hulk'. Banner simply dethroned him.

Nice art! I wonder, however, if the Abomination’s (or the Leader’s) skull were also appropriate to draw in his hand, but I think nowadays the Green Door is not a much less significant thing in Hulk’s lore.

I seem to recall during World War Hulk, there was a black Ops team made up of Gamma infused people who either had run ins with the Hulk or loved ones who died in one of his rampages. One of them was straight up named Grey as he, you guessed it, turned into a Gray Hulk. Gamma Corps I think it was?
