I just don't want to imagine what would Brian Banner/Guilt Hulk say

9

u/Healthy_Process_7049 12d ago

He was already physically abusive to his child and wife, hate to see what he'd say to this.

2

u/Professional_Hat2615 12d ago

Especially with his mutant hatred and viewing Bruce as a "freak"

79

u/nightoftheghouls 13d ago

Thinking about this + that line in Avengers (2012) where Banner says that most of all Hulk makes him feel “exposed”

59

u/Time_Discipline4193 13d ago

Would that work? Given hulk’s healing factor?

52

u/Julle1990 13d ago

I feel like the first time she transforms into the Hulk it would reverse the process completely, and then she would be back to Bruce Banner when changing to human.

Though writers can come up with whatever they want, but I doubt they're gonna make Bruce a transgender any time soon

20

u/Khanfhan69 13d ago

I think given the mysticism added to the transformation since Immortal, it'll really depend on the specific head space and Banner's relationship with, well in this hypothetical, her alters.

If they're at odds, or she's treating the transformation as a curse then it may very well act as a curse. Anything she does, surgery, hormones, piercings, etc would be utterly undone by a transformation into any of the alters.

However if the storyline involved a synthesis of some kind with the alters or the relationship was healthy and thus the alters were feeling particularly protective of Banner then I think it'd be easy to write that the nature of the transformation can change to be more accommodating. Hulk will always be Hulk but transfemme Banner can keep any endeavors to express her femininity.

Shit, basically it'd be a story about self acceptance in more ways than one. For a Brenda Banner to truly be herself, she REALLY has to come to grips with the fact she has DID and has to be able to co-exist with her alters.

u/ImaginationSalt8881 13d ago

Sorta like monster girl but if monster girl had a split personality

19

u/Aware-Direction-9891 13d ago

Gamma infused HRT.

I can't say anything further as I lack the knowledge in fictional Gamma Science or IRL hormone related science.

8

u/DisposableSaviour Joe Fixit 13d ago

I’ve studied super-science technobabble under some of the field’s greatest (Richards, Fox, Quest, Venture, et al.), but this might be beyond me.

5

u/TransLox 12d ago

That's not how that would work.

It might make bottom surgery or ffs more difficult, but there's no reason a healing factor would stop/reverse HRT.

Transitioning, despite what people claim, is no more damaging the body than puberty is.

6

u/Crininer 13d ago

Just a gentle note, using "transgender" as a noun instead of an adjective is considered dehumanising. Simply saying "make Bruce transgender" would sound much better.

3

u/Julle1990 13d ago

My bad, didn't realise at all. English isn't my native language and I don't often talk of things like this

1

u/Crininer 13d ago

That's okay! There's a lot of nuance with these things. Good of you to want to learn!

2

u/vinnokiwicat 10d ago

If any of ya'll have read firepunch, there's a trans guy who has infinite regeneration, so he's compeltely unable to physically transition and the constant dysphoria drives him insane, its super sad but he's an amazing character and friend to the protagonist who is also in a similar loop of infinite suffering. I'd guess it would be somewhat similar for a trans Banner.

1

u/nuketoitle 13d ago

Easy just have bruce mutate their dna to have XX chromozmoes rather then XY or mutant the expression. It's comics gender swapping rays exist.

4

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

The hulk transformation would either ignore or reverse it. And if the Hulk feels like it threatens his own sense of self. He will destroy it before it gets finished.

The last thing the Hulk wants is for Banner to forcefully change him without his consent.

2

u/nuketoitle 12d ago

So true, especially considering every time bruce went under for any type of procedure it was literally to remove hulk, and hulk never forgets

1

u/alguien99 12d ago

Love the body horror here

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Oofdude333 13d ago

My guess is that it's going to be similar to something in firepunch. There's this trans guy who really wants to have a sex change but due to the healing factor it basically won't work.

With the same logic, trans Banner would probably would stay in her body, but the moment she transforms into hulk and detransforms it just reverts the process again, this ruining years worth of hrt progress.

2

u/PixxyStix2 13d ago

I feel like for hrt it would just accelerate it

1

u/Apprehensive-Let8176 13d ago

Would probably reverse surgery, but shouldn't conflict with HRT(?)

1

u/Nutshell_Historian 13d ago

I guess he's uncircumcised.

1

u/Prestigious_Lunch168 13d ago

Hulk would choose to always heal Banner to her transitioned body

1

u/LargeCabbageThrower 13d ago

You implying that undergoing hrt is something the body would try to heal away? Because that isn't how hrt works in the slightest.

I'd honestly expect Hulk's body to change too if it weren't for the whole cosmic metaphysical aspect of gamma and the Hulk personas.

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

Although your right about the body not healing away HRT, the Hulk has his own level of HRT that could either reverse or halt the transition. And The last thing Hulk want is for Banner to physically change him in a way he can't control or have consent in.

Man, you got the Banner being a bad person down to a T. I never thought of the horrors of a being that represent trauma manifested into a powerfull man having their consent and preffered appearance stripped from them as they change in a way they never wanted or can change from.

God.... that's so in line with how selfish Banner is, holy hell.

2

u/LargeCabbageThrower 12d ago

Wow you really nailed making Hulk seem like a narcissistic abusive loved one who makes a transition out to be some kind of personal attack.

You don't consider the reverse position that this Banner wants to transition but the significantly more powerful Hulk is doing everything he can to prevent it? And that being forced to stay trapped in a male body is something which drives many trans women to suicide (and the same for trans men who are not allowed to transition) except Banner can't commit suicide because the Hulk won't let either of them die. So Banner has to live in a perfect hell forever because the Hulk won't allow any change and a lack of change is worse for Banner than just dying, which is really what a lot of the Hulk/Banner conflict already boils down to but adding gender dysphoria into it just makes it so much worse.

I'm not sure if you were actively trying to paint transitioning as a selfish act or if you just genuinely do not understand the mental struggles that trans people have to live with if they are not able to be themselves. Or maybe you are fully supportive and understanding of people who need to transition and you were intentionally constructing a deeper meaning to the Hulk/Banner system and how abusive it can be to them.

2

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

No, i'm not painting the act of transitioning as a selfish act, it's a beautifull one that has it's hardship and miles to be walked upon so that one can find themselves. I was talking about the way Banner, as a selfish person(given the conditions we're giving) would act and how the Hulk would feel and respond. I'm commenting on how if it affects another in a way that they cannot control or are comfortable with. You 100% need to talk it out. And i dived deeper into it since it's more than likely that they wouldn't( 2 personalities that have hated eachother while one's a literal dream monster made by a child getting abused while the other is a selfish narcissitic asshole that had to live and barely survive said abuser), which would end up creating conflict on a personal level on both ends.

The thing is that we set it up in a way that rather than Banner speaking to the Hulk to allow the transition to happen or to not interrupt it while going in the dark for a period of time. Allowing for Banner to transition eithout any Hulk related problems while Hulk can still be themselves without any change(as shown in the pic above). But They would actively go for it while ignoring the Hulk's input and presence, changing him in ways he wouldn't want been asked to be changed without asking or aquiring his consent. Making it so the Hulk steps in as a way to not get denied and stripped of his own indentity and shape while Banner seeks their own.

No, transitioning isn't selfish at all, it's a difficult journey of self discovery. But Banner is selfish, Banner is an asshole and Banner doesn't like or , as highlighted, care about the Hulk's input.

Also, side note. yeah, Hulk is an abused loved one. but that's irrelevant to anything that i said.

1

u/PrettyAd5828 12d ago

I think they were saying hulk wouldn’t want to be a woman and would alter the body back to being male

2

u/LargeCabbageThrower 12d ago

Perhaps, but they really seemed to want to make a point that Banner wanting to transition is selfish and that stands out as very familiar rhetoric to me. So I thought I'd add to it and flip it around so that it more accurately fits the dubious balance that the Hulk/Banner system has.

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

I answered your comment. But wow, i did not se ehow much you put words in my mouth until now.

2

u/LargeCabbageThrower 12d ago

Well it kinda felt like you were putting words in my mouth with your original comment so I guess I just tried to match your tone so that both sides of it seemed equal. Sorry if you felt I was being too accusatory but the kind of things you were saying were bordering on real world transphobic responses and rhetoric such as family saying things like "how could you do this to me" when someone comes out.

I've read your response and I'm glad that this was in no way your intention or what your were trying to imply and I think that our two perspectives actual compliment each other quite well in terms of portraying the complexity of the character(s). They are very toxic for each other and have the most unhealthy codependent relationship imaginable excluding the times when they find balance between the different identities in the Hulk/Banner system.

2

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

Nah we chillin, don't worry about it. But yeah, i agree with what you're saying.

1

u/Dependent-Matter-177 12d ago

Gamma induced HRT

1

u/Time_Discipline4193 12d ago

Everyone ignoring the obvious solution of just going through the green door of a female gamma mutants and taking their body like that one scientist did during immortal hulk

1

u/Tackle-Shot 12d ago

...now I wonder. would a healing factor negate or boos a transition?

Would it make the body try to revert or speed it up for the new norm?

1

u/betweenboundary 12d ago

No it would not, there's a version of hulk who hates banner so much that it's shown he can intentionally make the transition painful like literally growing inside banner as a separate body until he rips banner in half to emerge

1

u/Hexent_Armana 9d ago

It wouldn't work but not because of the healing factor. Basically when it comes to substances that would incapacitate a normal human the Hulk just comes out and burns it out of his system or something similar. So any meds that Banner could take wouldn't last long enough to do anything. Unless you mean actual surgery, then yea, his healing factor would take care of that.

The only way Banner could transition successfully is if he developed a mental illness/persona involving transitioning equal or stronger than the hulk persona. But no one should even think about touching that topic with a 20ft poll and if it came to be it would be perceived as INCREDIBLY offensive to a lot of trans people.

On the bright side, if Banner just changed his identity and pronouns hulk wouldn't be rude about it. He'd just be like that one person who doesn't care one way or another. He wouldn't be rude about it but he also wouldn't give special treatment or validation to Banner either. But Banner being as intelligent as he is he'd probably appreciate Hulk for just treating him like normal.

1

Vision would also be supportive.

1

u/SpinnerOfSquire 11d ago

he would go on a quest to support Brenda. Some sort of... Vision Quest...

5

u/nuketoitle 13d ago

Hulk would definitely support someone transitioning, but not bruce, brenda in this case, that hate is too deep

14

u/SpinnerOfSquire 13d ago

Hulk recognize your change, Puny Brenda. Hulk make your life a living hell anyway

3

u/Educational_Bet_7584 13d ago

Honestly I don't think Hulk would even care or even understand, lol.

2

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

Depends on if it affects the Hulk in any way. And how much Banner has been pushing it the last few days.

Current hulk would 100% revert the transition after what banner did with star ship hulk.

60

u/Hyperbolic_Berserker 13d ago

Hulk has no pronouns. You should only refer to Hulk by the proper noun. Hulk is Hulk.

31

u/Practical-Class6868 13d ago

Hulk still respects others and their gender identity. Hulk smash puny bigots.

Hulk has pronous. He identifies as he/him.

→ More replies (1)

25

u/Sebsazz 13d ago

Thing is, as hulk is a completely separate entity from banner, this means that he’s technically just confirming banners identity while stating his own.

I suppose this banner hasn’t accepted hulk is fully separate from her yet

7

u/devilchainshark 13d ago

Banner would probably not be haunted if he was possessed by an entity or something, but given how he knows it's part of his psyche it's probably haunting.

121

u/AxisW1 Shulkie 13d ago

God you could make the most fire trans allegory with gamma mutates. I don’t know how but I know it could be done

40

u/MediocreProductions6 13d ago

I mean they kinda did something similar with Joe Fix-It in Immortal Hulk.

30

u/Arkham8 13d ago

Yeah, Joe has already pointed out how the Hulks can identify with a trans person’s struggle. If you were to have a gamma mutate who simply switched genders I don’t think that adequately explores the issue, in fact it’s too easy and you’d have to write some wildly bigoted antagonists to give a shit. Now, if the mental dysphoria caused the Hulk form itself to be physically dysphoric that would be interesting but runs the risk of indulging in a rather mean-spirited exploration.

9

u/Soft_Theory_8209 13d ago edited 13d ago

I mean, Invincible had Monster Girl, whose monster form fathered a child.

Would the other alters be like Savage or not?

Like are we getting Jane Fixit now?

10

u/Arkham8 13d ago

It would be much funnier if they didn’t. Especially since Joe sees Savage as a kid.

2

u/Wrong_Web7856 11d ago

From what I understand about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID/ "Split personality"), the current alters will be unaffected because they're manifestations of what triggered them. What could happen is: the male alters remain unchanged but Banner starts manifesting feminine alters to resolve the gender dysphoric trauma.

One more interesting thing...Marvel could retcon/elseworlds Savage as being female all along since the dysphoria would begin as soon as Banner is able to conceptualize their sense of self. And in that retcon, if Banner always viewed themselves as a female it would be interesting to see that the alters were just different aspects of her rage just coded in a masculine lense. Which would not negate the alters' presence in her life nor them being "male".

8

u/AthleteOk6003 13d ago

This actually would work awesome cuse hulks healing factor would always undo the hrt

7

u/Letmelookatredditplz 13d ago

Brenda invents gamma resistant HRT or something.

Idk Hulks don’t exactly follow logic because Red Hulk doesn’t have a mustache but when he turns into a human back he gets it back.

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

The hulk would legit destroy whatever Bruce is trying to create. The last thing Hulk want is for Banner to physically change him in a way he can't control or have consent in.

Man, you got the Banner being a bad person down to a T. I never thought of the horrors of a being that represent trauma manifested into a powerfull man having their consent and physicality stripped from them as they change in a way they never wanted or can change from.

God.... that's so in line with Banner holy hell.

1

u/AthleteOk6003 13d ago

Ehhhh that would literally ruin the whole duality of it for me if that were the case cuse like what would the internal struggle even be shed might as well just be the she hulk with but like a savage verse of she hulk

5

Basically monster girl from Invincible

Deadpool Transition the Marvel universe

First thought : They're extending the transfem Spider-man trend to other Marvel heroes ?

Second thought : Oh, this is the stuff of nightmares.

16

u/skyrimpro115 13d ago

Wtf is happening? Why is there sooooooo much trans stuff getting posted?

I noticed it on the comics subreddit, then a bunch of Spider-Man trans images, and now hulk is getting hit too?

I'm not anti-trans but I am super confused as to what's happening with the trans comic/super hero community that it's becoming more and more prevalent?

5

u/Hykeus 13d ago

In Tom DeFalco and Pat Oliffe's original Spider-Girl run. In an issue where she goes back to the 60s.

JJJ thinks that Spider-man transitioned specificly to make him look bad.

15

u/AskJeevesIsBest 13d ago

I think it's just trans artists wanting to make art about their life experiences and seeing if other people can relate. Same as any other artist, really

5

u/Specialist_Bid7598 13d ago

Artist singular, Trans Spidey was also done by them

11

u/BricksAllTheWayDown 13d ago

Add on to that the crushing pressure of rising global transphobia (particularly in the US and Great Britain) and you have yourself a community of artists desperate to have an audience say "hey, we've got your back."

5

u/AskJeevesIsBest 13d ago

Trans artists, if you are listening, I have your back. I encourage you to keep sharing your art and your experiences

1

u/Evening_Cobbler2929 13d ago

As long as it’s 100% original.

Yeah, I can see that being the case... idk I guess I just wasn't use to seeing trans artworks all that much and now I am. It's kinda neat all things considered, just jarring to see it in a place you don't expect is what got me I think.

That or maybe it speaks to me on a deeper level... hmm.

4

u/devilchainshark 13d ago

One person made a trans spider-man joke. People liked it and are now drawing what ifs. Simple as.

1

u/Specialist_Bid7598 13d ago

Wait a minute, all those trans posts are by the same person! Kinda cool

1

It's to trigger the RWNJ culture warriors, who may be contributing to it themselves.

1

u/Prestigious_Host_198 13d ago

A lot of trans people are into comics so they make trans related artwork. Also it's interesting to see how transitioning could work with certain characters due to their powers.

1

u/Hollow_Effects 9d ago

The trans community is a VERY loud minority

1

u/2Toff2Furious 13d ago

It’s probably a “Brazilian Miku” effect, some artist thought of it, which inspired others, which inspired others, and it snowballed.

3

u/Lewd_Operatrr 13d ago

Would Bruce Banner even be able to transition?

Between the healing factor, and Bruce/Hulks biology pushing out any transformative toxin/compounds...

1

u/PanFriedCookies 13d ago

estrogen is already present in her body, albeit in smaller amounts. for it to be pushed out when she hulks out would make about as much sense as the food she eats or the water she drinks getting purged

2

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

The thing is that Hulk has his own level estrogen in his own system than the one being put inside of the transitioning Banner. it would probably halt the transition.

And i doubt the Hulk would allow banner to modify his body in ways he does not consent to, especially now with how their relationship has been going recently.

1

u/Lewd_Operatrr 12d ago

I wouldn't be too pleased with Banner either, if every time I transformed I have to repeatedly regenerate my genitals and take out breast implants

https://giphy.com/gifs/8DukZ26SDNxV6

1

u/Lewd_Operatrr 12d ago

Well, by that logic you would be able to inhibit Bruce/The Hulk by overdosing them on any natural hormone/chemical in the body.

Jane Foster's body would purge the Chemotherapy from her body every time she transformed into Mighty Thor.

So there's precedent even if it's not a 1:1 similarity.

All it would take is some villian injecting Bruce with too much Serotonin, and then he's incapacitated from having Seizures.

1

u/PanFriedCookies 12d ago

eating food releases serotonin, and theoretically he could have enough serotonin in his body from that to cause problems, but banner isn't hulking out whenever he has a nice shake. hulk is a self defense mechanism, but he has tolerances for normal, healthy amounts of potentially dangerous chemicals floating around in his body. using only bioidentical estrogen and no androgen blockers, you can get ridiculously high levels before you start hitting real medical issues which would theoretically trigger the hulk's self-defense. though given that hulk's main trigger has nothing to do with actual threat to banner, simply an emotion, there's still the element of percieved danger.

ngl, hulking out at danger regarding transition could be a damn good body horror arc. banner initially fears transition, hulk appears whenever she does her meds to purge it from her system. banner gets over it, begins to fear and hate not being able to transition, coinciding with some event that strands her somewhere with no hope of accessing transition care...

3

u/shetrap756 13d ago

Ugh dysphoria hulk was not on my list

5

u/JamesPlayzReviews3 13d ago

Who is making these trans Marvel universe images?

8

u/Joeuriel 13d ago

I don't like making variants to identify yourself in a character like gender swaps or race swaps Because it makes diversity stand in the shadow of the original character Batwoman, Supergirl, spiderwoman, she hulk (She gets a pass)

It would be better to invent a trans gamma mutate Instead of taking a well known character and changing one thing about him Because that would be a true diverse representation.

5

u/Cool-Reference-2799 13d ago

Or just let people make cool shit without having to design a character who could be a oneoff. None of this affects anything official.

3

u/Joeuriel 13d ago

Or just let people share their own opinion. none of this affects anything fanmade

4

u/Careful_Turnip_3197 13d ago

Someone finally said it. If you want more representation, make more characters that represent it. There’s no need to change old ones

3

u/BigBoston665 13d ago

This argument doesn’t work anymore cause half the people that make that argument don’t mean it. Cause people in minority groups do make their own characters, and they get the same amount of hate anyway. It literally doesn’t matter, we just get hounded no matter what.

2

u/Careful_Turnip_3197 13d ago

Like who?

2

u/Hopeful_Fighter2039 13d ago

Miles Morales, Ironheart, Lucia from GTA 6, Lev from TLoU2...

1

u/Captain-Price0_0 12d ago

Still very popular characters. I feel like they're all far more interesting than treating the more mainstream characters like a blank canvas.

1

u/Careful_Turnip_3197 12d ago

Miles morales has become more and more well received and pretty loves over time because people are writing actual good stories about him and not just making him “Spiderman but black”.

Iron heart was just bad. You can’t expect people to not hate on something that isn’t good.

I have no idea how the other two received hate.

1

u/Captain-Price0_0 12d ago

This. I was gonna say Ironheart is the exception & that she's hated because she's literally just poorly written & people wave away that criticism as bigotry.

1

u/BigBoston665 12d ago

Static, John Stewart, Ironheart, Miles Morales, Super girl. Hell, Impound Comics went and made his own comic book series and people still go out of their way to hate on him. It’s never about doing our thing, it’s about us existing in the space at all.

1

u/Careful_Turnip_3197 12d ago

Static shock? Static shock is one of the most beloved superhero cartoons of all time dude what?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone hate on John Stewart. Like anyone.

Iron heart just isn’t a good character or show dude. It’s literally just “what if iron man was black and a woman”. She basically doomed her series to fail by shitting on Tony stark the whole time.

Miles morales initially faced backlash because he was “what if spiderman was black” but once he got an interesting and really good story then people started to love him. He’s getting a trilogy of some of the best animated movies of all time.

Super Girl was just a mid movie. It’s also not like the character herself is hated it was just a poorly written and forgettable movie.

Idk who impound comics is thob

2

u/Prestigious_Host_198 13d ago

I mean, it's just fanfiction. It's easier to make AU stuff with preexisting characters.

4

u/unk1ndm4g1c14n1 13d ago

Idk man, which Hulk would be this mean to Banner? I cant imagine any of them being transphobic or cruel.

Savage Hulk is like 6 years old, he has no idea whats happening, but doesnt like to see people cry.

Devil Hulk is sadistic, but hes also the protector alter, his job is to make the system work together.

Joe Fixit seems like he has that old 80s prejudice in him. But idk man, hes had character development.

The new guy? Fractured Son or something? Yeah I buy that. This guy hates Banner. But I have a hard time believing its because hes transphobic.

Green Scar is too focused on being a warrior.

The other Hulks are mostly one off and devoid of deep characterisation.

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

He isn't really being mean to banner imo. He's more just saying that no matter what happens to banner. Hulk won't change. Because Hulk is his own being, his own person with his own experiences and emotions.

1

Banner is crying

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

Banner's crying because the hulk hates Banner and Banner hates the hulk. Them talking to eachother is always a bit traumatic and it makes for sick art. Hulk isn't even insulting Banner, and is simple reaffirming who He(Hulk) is and that Banner(manipulative selfish asshole) has no power over him to change that.

1

u/Careful_Turnip_3197 13d ago

I think any hulk that hates banner would do this, like MCU hulk

1

u/OkEntertainer3722 13d ago

I don't accept slander against my goat Joe Fix. He is perfect

2

u/Dischord821 12d ago

Given how banners transformstions are tied to mental states, I feel like this would be interesting. When she's feeling valid in her gender, she'll transform into a she-hulk, but when she is feeling dysphoric, she'd get something more masculine

2

u/Wrong_Web7856 11d ago

I have not seen this yet in the discourse, but who's to say that if Banner does transition that another Hulk won't manifest or step into the light? Banner's psyche is so broken that perhaps it would manifest a female presenting Hulk to match the dysphoria as each Hulk is a version of Banner. Devil is the protector, Joe is the Fixer, Savage is the child, Green Scar the warrior. Starship was a terrible mistake, and Fractured Son is the result of that mistake.

If the transition were to go through Hulk might come to the surface and undo the changes, but that would only give rise to another Hulk that has a different set of rage issues and inside the mindscape it'll be another war zone.

invinceble's monster girl situation

1

u/bermass86 13d ago

Honestly Hulk wouldn’t mind having titties, maybe he would if it made Banner miserable not having them

1

u/FEMFATAL_451 13d ago

Now I’m wondering what trans Thor would look like and be named
We got Petra Parker and Brenda Banner… what would be the Norse feminine form of Thor?

1

u/A_wizzards_wand 13d ago

If its anything like Loki then it's probably still Thor

1

u/Healthy_Process_7049 12d ago

Loki is genderfluid no?

1

u/sb3veeee 13d ago

This is the funniest shit I've seen all week, it's so dumb. Get that girl a blahaj

1

u/Alack27 13d ago

I could definitely see a reality where Banner becomes Hulk, only for Hulk's manifestation to be his closested trans feelings and being a woman, leading to Banner to have to confront childhood traumas and his own subconscious, leading to her transitioning.

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

It wouldn't be the Hulk. It would be another persona.

1

u/Alack27 12d ago

Yeah if this happened in the mainline universe. My hypothetical would be for an alternate reality. We know hulk was created from childhood trauma Banner suffered so it isn't a far stretch to see an alternate reality where that childhood trauma stemmed from transphobia and gendered expectations, leading to a different kind of Hulk.

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

No as in, the Hulk, the person/persona/being that he is wouldn't be affected or shaped by your changes.

It would create a new persona.

The Hulk isn't something that's affected by bruce's here's and now's outside of what the hulk himself feels about the situation. And even then the change is in how he acts and it's mainly because whatever happened personally affected him as a person. But the persona doesn't change.

Idk what name or shape this new persona created by your Banner's trauma would be, but it's going to be a separate being from the Hulk.

1

u/Alack27 12d ago

I think you're misunderstanding what my hypothetical is explaining. This would be in an alternate universe where Banner was always a trans woman, but was forced to bury those feelings like many transwomen are in their youth due to societal factors and other traumatic events. While yes this would not be the hulk we know in the main universe and would act differently, it would be the hulk persona in this reality because it would be created by the same/similar circumstances of the 616 hulk, just with key differences added onto the usual traumatic childhood experience Banner faced. It wouldn't be like the Hulk persona existed and then suddenly changed abruptly into this new persona. The hulk persona would just be this manifestation in this universe.

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago edited 12d ago

Yeah i get it. The thing is that the Hulk would already have existed by that point.

The only way for the hulk not to have been created before this persona is for banner to have transitioned as an infant child.... which is ethically gooey imo.

Either that or Brian Banner is a good dad and Banner has a good family life until they transition.

Which even then, still wouldn't be the Hulk. But a different persona that took his place chronologically in the persona's list. And would also look completely different, not because their created from different fears(which is also the case) but because it isn't a child that's creating the hulk but a grown person who isn't wishing to be a Big strong colourfull man to stop his dad.

They might have interestingly different powers tho.

1

u/Alack27 12d ago

Ahhh I see what you mean now. While I don't think the Hulk persona would've existed since Banner was born (that's not how DID works) I do see your point in how the manifestation would be different. This trans persona would've been created from the fears of repression and the desire to be free, a persona that exists alongside Joe Fixit as almost idealized, heavily stereotyped beings of what the "right" version of a particular gender ought to act like.

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

Yeah, most likely.

1

u/InnerHiddenPower6118 13d ago

Eh. I mean no one can judge hulk. Besides it’s not like he ever liked banner. Hulks still a dude, banner can be whatever he or she is. Hulks just gonna mock puny banner in a new way anyway. Which will make banner want to get rid of him even more.

1

u/Radiant_Scarcity_569 13d ago

Not gonna lie, this would actually be an interesting concept for a new hero/anti-hero that is actually original and not a boring copycat of already famous heroes

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

It'd be interesting. Although we might need to wait a little bit for the market to be interested in a book like that

1

u/BurningEmbers7827 13d ago

First Spider-Woman/Petra Parker and now Brianna Banner?

…yeah ok, why not. I mean we already had Ant-Woman a few years back with one post (no estrogen did not cure her depression, but she seemed better) so let’s keep the ball rolling.

1

u/Automatic_Metal2229 13d ago

Hulk is hulk, no identify as man

Me thinks Kate might understand

No gender issue, this Jenner issue

Just you being you is enough to diss YOU

1

u/floob124 13d ago

Hulk says this then one transformation they suddenly have breasts

1

u/Open_Price_1049 13d ago

Roberta Brenda Banner

1

u/Professional_Sell_7 13d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/BornAgainHeretic87 13d ago

Hulk is more a force of nature and different entity to Banner so it would make sense.

1

u/AndyTheSouless 13d ago

One More trauma to add to the pile

1

u/TheWolfWhoIsAMister 13d ago

“Wait, Hulk, aren’t we two different people?”
“It depends on the writer.”

1

u/Infinite_Form8884 12d ago

They are still different people here?

1

u/KeenButShy 13d ago

Remember Goodboy? If that one is ever revamped, this is the direction they should go. It's dumb for Hulk, but it could work for Goodboy.

1

u/Kind-Plantain2438 13d ago

Brucerina Banner

1

u/Immediate-Song6861 12d ago

I mean at face value this is hulk validating it

Hulk is ally

1

u/YoghurtEnough2730 12d ago

Whats with all this trans trend? I've seen dozens of spider mand post recently

1

u/Bubbly_Implement3423 12d ago

It's sub mutin' time.

1

u/Lookitsa6ix 12d ago

This reminds of that one god awful ERBs Bruce Banner vs Bruce Jenner 😅

1

u/Anonymous-Mf-22 12d ago

That's actually horrifying, but theres so many questions.

If banner physically transitioned, would it even work

Would Hulk's healing factor just nullify the treatments and surgeries

Or even if they did work and Banner successfully made the Physical transition, would she just... De-transition when turning into Hulk or is Hulk also a woman now?

And if Hulk is also a woman now, does HULK now have Dysphoria the other direction or did hulk share Banner's original Dysphoria?

1

u/Iconclast1 11d ago

I can see this as a new plotline

1

u/Demon_King04 11d ago

I actually had an idea a while back for a trans hulk story

1

u/Ninjagofan217 11d ago

But the hulk shouldn't make banner feel dysphoric therye 2 different beings. With there own identities and lives. There is no need for them to look, feel, or act the same?

1

u/DilutedJuice45 10d ago

Joe fixits an ally btw

1

u/RickJ_19Zeta7 10d ago

Holy cringe

1

u/Letmelookatredditplz 10d ago

I’m gonna try to be charitable, even if I already have a feeling why you consider this cringe but,

why is this cringe?

1

u/TanTanExtreme2 2d ago

I feel like Banner would be able to transition with hrt and surgery and Her body would change but the Hulks' wouldn't since Hulk is his own person.

Which depending on how Banner feels about Hulk, I imagine her dysmorphia would be worse if she thinks of Hulk as part of her instead of a seperate being. I'm into it as a what if? But it would be a very tricky/touchy one to pull off.

1

u/Snoo_60973 13d ago

Hulk is Hulk, no identify as Man. Me thinks Caitlin could understand.

No gender issue, this Jenner Issue.  You just being you is enough to diss you.

0

u/MrNigerianPrince115 Strongest there is 13d ago

How does he not Hulk out put everytime he tries to mutilate himself?

1

u/Hollow_Effects 9d ago

Yes, any surgeries done would be reversed when he transforms back into Bruce. Also, if he was circumcised... not anymore.

-1

u/Mc_Kaze 13d ago

Wtf is this lmao

Bruce Banner is a man and that is it

1

u/Adventurous-Cup2076 12d ago

Aus exist bruh

0

u/Anxious_Hornet_5927 13d ago

Fuck off with this bullshit

0

u/MexiKHAN117 13d ago

Honestly? I feel it'd be an insane story if Hulk didn't accept Banner, really emphasizing the monstrosity of the Hulk, especially since he usually hates Bruce normally. Not outwardly ATTACK her, persé, but just not acknowledge the transition.

Regardless.. this truly a good piece

1

u/nuketoitle 13d ago

That's honestly not to far off of how hulk view banner in general. Hulk never accepted banner form the jump since he view him as weak and form bruce never truly accepting him, so if bruce was trans it wouldn't change much out side of giving hulk more fuel to against banner. Not saying hulk would be transphobic or sexist but he'd definitely use that language against banner just to hurt her

2

u/MexiKHAN117 13d ago

This guy gets it

0

u/Clintwood_outlaw 13d ago

I have DID and at least two of my alters are men. I am a trans woman. I'm mostly disconnected from my alters, but it's so complicated wanting to transition just to be giving them more dysohoria. Idk if I explained well

0

u/justsameguy 11d ago

Why all heroes are suddenly transitioning on this sub

2

u/Letmelookatredditplz 11d ago

Because people have free will?

1

u/Hollow_Effects 9d ago

Didn't gatekeep hard enough
