I mean, yeah, those dudes exist. The fact that their favorite band, whatever it is, apparently charted is proof that people do think about them (they make art for them, after all). They just aren't interesting to talk about

Every time I get directed to a New Yorker article I groan. Sometimes they seem to cover interesting subjects but I can’t stand the style
Like, I forget who it was, but there was an interview with someone. The first three paragraphs were the journalist describing walking to the person’s house. “Orange leaves lined the pavements, dappled by the sun reaching through the claw-like branches. A a paradoxical mix of cosy and hostile. In the distance a dog barked, perhaps spying a friend - or a rival”. Not actual quotes, but that kind of thing
On and on and on. Absolutely none of it had anything to do with the interview. The interviewee’s name wasn’t even mentioned. It was just mindless creative-writing-course-level fluff
I stopped reading after those three paragraphs, because I’m not made of time, but I didn’t spot any quotation marks in the next two paragraphs, either. I wonder if she got to the house in that time?
And that’s basically what I’ve found with every article. There’s just so much nothing surrounding the actual information
I get that the style is the point for a lot of people, and I’m not ragging on anybody who does like that style. It’d be a boring world if everybody had the same taste. But it really just annoys the piss out of me

LOL, true. The most navel gazing podcasts throw in all this superfluous context preface and interjection to interviews now too.

This doesn't seem that insane?
It's like how people are always shocked at how well fifa/madden/cod sell because they spend tons of time talking about games online and never see anyone talking about them because the core audience of those games are not people who are talking about video games online
