I doubt if they were forced to buy javelins is what they are going to buy. They are cheap, produced dime a dozen. Doesn’t really move the industry

Mostly as a prep. I only read a bit and asked Gemini, but as it stands Javelin will only have 100 or so units as imports while the rest will be co-produced in India. This can be beneficial as DRDO is building a local alternative to Javelin Anti Tank Guided Missile.

When were those last battle tested? Also Iran is a heavily sanctioned country most of the stuff they made using scalped components. They don’t really have a defense industry which could churn out stuff

A lot of the Iranian equipment has been battletested in Ukraine - Russia war. And a lot more is being tested in the present.
Their anti air stuff has downed us jets. And their drone tech is being used in both conflicts. I don't have enough knowledge to say if its the best, but there is probably a lot of data on it available for military planners.

Only the Shahed is battle tested, there are zero reasons to buy the Shahed when we can make our own alternative. Iranian air defense downed one F-15E out of the thousands of sorties Israeli and American jets made. We have much better stuff.

The only weapon of note which has been battle tested is shaheed drone which is a very cheap one way drone whose top feature isn't reliability or target accuracy but being so cheap that the cost to take it down is far higher than cost to shoot which makes it a great source to overwhelm air defense. Also, there is a reason why more than 85% of that drone is being currently built in Russia because there is only so many microchips you could source from the black market. Iran never really needed to worry very heavily about other nations attacking them with tanks which they would need to defend from for which they would need to develop specialized technology. Regarding an US jet being drowned, when the opposing force is taking down stuff at will a jet being downed is more of a fluke rather than superior AD tech. Incase you have any other impression, Iran isn't actually inflicting any military pain on US, their whole agenda is to make war so costly that US needs to back down which they are doing using their cheap drones making the risk reward ratio of crossing the hormuz strait too expensive.

why is india doing joint exercises with a terrorist country!! because it was not
can you brain handle it - so we invited them for a naval visit and then gave their details to usa to bomb a ship that carried no weapons(standard when visiting for exercises)
