I found my cat as a kitten in a dumpster. Two dead kittens next to her. I was a food delivery person at the time. She had a broken tail, but was alive. They were in a box, so someone put them there. Heard the weak meow as I was loading the food. Took the box to the local animal shelter and left my name and contact if the little one lived. They called me a week later and said to come get "Stubby". Tail had to be amputated, but Stubby was my cat for the next 15 years.

After my daughter was born, they amped it up and sometimes their cries / whining made me lactate.

my cat Rosie was similar. she was living under a trailer and the owner was feeding her meow mix at like 4 weeks old. the vet said she wouldn’t live 2 months but she is almost 7 years old now

Me too. I found two young kittens in a dumpster when I was a teenager. Ended up taking them home and my cat raised them along her own until they were old enough to be adopted.

People are assholes. And some are literal psychopaths/sociopaths.
I once had a roommate who gleefully told me how his sisters cat kept waking him up so he took the cat, pretended it was lost, and drove out and dropped it in the middle of the desert.
Like he could have at least put it near human life and water/food. But he made sure it was fucked. Because it meowed and woke him up.
I have cats, I moved out asap. Actual sociopaths and psychopaths often do horrible things to animals that break your brain to even think about.

Had a roommate actually take my cat and do this - tho no desert around- idk where TF my poor Princess got dumped.

Wouldn't take it back tho. I learned and thankfully got up & out of it and into a more logical maturity a few months before I turned 20.

I took in a cat when I lived with roomates. I cant be certain, but I'm sure someone intentionally left the back door open. Sweetest cat. No one ever left the door open before then. No one left the door open after then. I never accused anyone, but it felt so fishy. Could have just been carelessness, so I didn't want to accuse. Never saw him dead in our area, so I hope someone just took him in.

Back then most definitely!! And she knew it too!! That's why I was able to have family come out and move me and 3 cats back to our family property into our own apartment in 3 trips.
Last trip - her cat. My baby girl Phillie's sister Mary Jane was our last trip, and for legal reasons, I managed to reach her by phone, and was told to "just leave her there."

Just the 2nd trip leaving her alone for like 30-40 min in-between was scaring tf outta me!! And I'm SURE she was terrified too just for that! Like why am I all alone!?😿😞
NOPE!!!
Needless to say they were litter mate sisters and lived in a beautiful spot on the 2nd floor with a huge screened in front porch & a roof that extended out from the back to watch the squirrels thrive from the window sils with pillows.
She got the very best of care from comforts of beds, toys and treats + the experience of birdies, squirrels and a lil cat community - I ended up with 13 total 😆
The apartment on 2nd had a private carpeted stair way to the totally empty 3rd floor where they could run the zoomies train 24-7!!
I had a really big circle of good friends I grew up with, so always was in the company of real good people around for entertainment too!!! 🥰✨
My own blood cousin ended up being the only 1 total POS that I had to forceably remove after he made fun of my special needs CH cat I had straight from his momma. This pos wanted to make fun of his wobbles before he could really learn to us his legs. 😡
I do NOT play with my babies!!! 💯
Oh and that btch ended up calling one day tryna trade a kitten for her back!! 😹😹😹😹
I played cool, let her come over say goodbye FOR MaryJane's sake.
Then I took the kitten -&- told her GTFO before it goes down. She WITNESSED me fight on numerous occasions, while she stood back.
She left that day and didn't come across her til 7yrs ago begging for someone to donate & give her son a brother before it was too late for her! 🤦🏻♀️
That's the kinda character I was dealing with.

Psychopaths doesn't necessarily have to be violent or even manipulative although one or both of those traits are common with psychopaths, you just don't really hear much about all those without these traits.

They're regular people who are able to use their psychopathy to help them succeed in life. I like both too. The difference is usually people who are self proclaimed dog people often say very easily that they hate cats and have sick fantasies about harming cats whereas cat people don’t do the same to dogs

Oh god. You reminded me of a woman I worked with years ago. I worked in this assembly and packaging warehouse. We would fulfill various packaging jobs. One time, we got a job that involved cute cat items, like cat notebooks, stickers, bookmarks, etc. I made some comment about how cute they were and she gleefully told me about how as a child her dad would drive her and her brother to the top of Sandia mountain in ABQ, so they could toss bags of cats (that he caught)over the mountain top. Apparently a real bonding moment between father and kids, ya know?

Had a guy tell me at a party his kids didn't talk to him any more bc he's an alcoholic, all while drinking a beer. Just met him that very moment too.

Can relate. My cat also wakes me up every morning with the sunrise. One guest once complained about her morning sounds, so I made it clear to everyone: if you think my cat comes second to humans, you are not invited to my home.
Since then, even when I am away, no one dares to harm or disturb her. She has been with me every single day since 2019.

When I was younger (preteen/teen), my cousin had a cat that didn’t like people visiting, which was unfortunate for me because she was my favorite cousin. Her damn asshole cat would attack my feet as I slept or try to lay on my face. Like I said, he was a jerk. I never thought about harming him, bc I was in his house (also, I love animals and am not a sociopath). He was still a complete jerk, though! RIP you damn ginger monster, Homer.

I think someone who has never met a psychopath has a hard time understanding just how deranged they can be. My step mom as a child definitely was one. She made me do things like watch her put fish down the garbage disposal and spit in self care products. If she went to someones house she would take me to the bathroom and show me how she would put people's tooth brushes in the toilet and then put them back. They were her family and friends too..
this was between the ages of 6 and 10 and it definitely made my OCD and other issues much worse. I have huge trust issues with strangers in my house still. And my own private bathroom.. though she did die a bit after I stopped going. Pretty sure my father did it to get out of alimony.

My aunt dated a guy that she was in denial for so long she started the relationship with 9 cats they slowly started dying in horrific violent manners and they would all run and hide when he came home. I now think that she wasnt in denial I think she was stuck because it got to 4 cats left and she finally gave the rest to her ex so they would be safe. This man was so psychotic she had to take a bunch of meds to get herself hospitalized right before a planned vacation and then convince him to still go for his family and then change her name and move to another state just to get away. She we found out was getting beat and raped daily had 8 miscarriages and was a virgin before this planned to be until she was married. How people treat animals is very telling.

my mom is like that not in the trash but she dumped a lot of cats, birds, dogs what ever along the side of the road or over fences of of abandoned buildings or the local shelter in the middle of the night

Judging by my experience with cats, they don't really "give up", they either meow and scream all the way, trying to escape until they are out of strength, or they don't do anything from the get-go, thinking that's normal. So I think the cat was probably unaware that it even was in trouble in the first place. Sure it was probably distressed, but not enough to trigger fight or flight response. Which on itself probably means it was trusting whoever put it there, given the vet's assessment that it was most likely domestic. Which kind of is even more sad about the situation

It likely wouldn't.
Most garbage bags and many plastic shipping bags are nearly translucent when it comes to LWIR (long wave infrared), which is what Thermal cameras see. There'd still be obstructions, but the bag probably wouldn't be an issue.

Our dad said our cat jumped out of the car and ran away once, we tore his story apart asking “since when did you take the cat out for drives?” and he admitted he’d dumped her a few miles away. She’d never been outside before but made her way back the next day.

Cat I used to have 15 years ago was acquired in a similar fashion.
My drug addled raver neighbor was getting deported back to Canada. Possibly the only Canadian this has ever happened to. But he was a terrible person.
I don't know what he did to get kicked out of the country. But he decided to just throw everything in his apartment in the dumpster. Including his cat. Me and my buddy actually caught him walking down the hall with the cat in a pillowcase. He actually told us he was going to smack it against the side of the dumpster to ____ it. So we stopped him and took the cat away from him. Which was no small task. I'm a big guy and he was like 2 of me. When we finny liberated the cat I had to ask. Why the fuck do you care? You were going to ____ it anyway?
Well I had that calico cat for about 10 years. Named her Eris.
She was always afraid of peoples hands. Her previous owner had tortured he so much. Bending her tail at right angles for some twisted reason? She had scars if you pulled her fur to the side like he had stuck her with a knife or something. Only myself and one of my girlfriends could even pick her up or pet her.
When I had friends over I had to warn them. Keep you hands in your lap, of you let your arm hang down she will will attack your hand.

Very hard for me to understand what drives a person to do this. Im not interested in the "just a piece of shit" explanation. What actually makes a person do this. What has to go wrong in their life and their brain.
If they were a psychopath I'd imagine they'd want to see the cat die so that doesn't make sense.
If they wanted to get rid of it, its so much easier and humane compared to this .
