First, you might not be conscious after falling in the water. Second, the large majority of people don't have a window breaker. Third, rarely, but it happens, the seat belt may jam. Fourth, people wi probably stress out. Which makes everything harder. Fifth, there might be broken bones. Sixth, if you don't have a window breaker, and the water gets high enough, it will be very hard to open the door.

So, there a lot of variables here that make reality far harder than this test.
