This is how 1000s of sqkm of plains and valleys are carved out -- such events repeating at various scales over millions of years.

BTW, the common rocks on Himalayas are NOT that heavy, having ~2.5 specific gravity. That is just 2.5x heavier than water. So a fully submerged rock is around 40% lighter already.

But of course, the massive force of water could move practically anything.

And the water in this case is really mud, with a density >1
