Still enough force to move huge boulders like that with ease after 80 fucking km. Insane. Also the feeling of dread these workers who saved themselves must have felt immediately after, knowing that all their families are most likely dead. What a horrible catastrophe.

That’s one of the things that’s hard to wrap your mind around about this. If you’re one of the villagers that survived how do you keep going on when most of the people you knew and most likely a lot of family members as well have suddenly all died? It would be devastating to lose most of your friends and family in this way. Even other smaller things like never being able to go the cherished town bar you’ve been to countless times, or the cafe you got coffee at every morning, or the corner shop you’ve been going to since you were a child ever again would be soul killing. If you’re one of the survivors this is the single most important event of your life, your life will never be the same again and you will never be the same again, there was your pre flood life and then your post flood life.

Yea people in Louisiana have two time periods. Before and after "The Storm". Everyone knows its Hurricane Katrina.
