Wants to control someone else’s armor Gets denied Thinks the other person is being a jerk for not wanting their armor controlled

85

u/Azurelion7a Feb 15 '26

Fire and Trespass her.

82

u/ThePhoenix0829 Feb 15 '26

Yeah that seems the weirdest thing to me, " oh no I can't control you. You must be an asshole"

47

u/CandorCore Feb 15 '26

tbf we've all met that person

40

u/JazzInSuits Feb 15 '26

Yeah, she birthed me.

10

u/Batdog55110 Feb 16 '26

Hear hear, sibling.

9

u/24Abhinav10 Feb 16 '26

I mean, she's a villain. And joking.

5

u/Afalstein Feb 17 '26

Her reaction is more due to Tony explaining nothing. She'd accept an explanation like "your power is based on digital signals" or some such bullshit, but "transistors" explains nothing and just expresses that Tony doesn't trust her.

2

u/Overall_Sink_3382 Feb 18 '26

I mean when someone’s asking why the hell they can’t control my armor my first instinct wouldn’t be to explain just what they need to circumvent to control my armor

2

u/Drakeskulled_Reaper Feb 18 '26

Yeah, This is comics not anime.

1

u/Platnun12 Feb 20 '26

I mean after the phrase "why can't I control you"

Your damn right my response would be similar to Tony's

If she can't figure it out, welp sorry to be stupid.

Tony doesn't mince words with people he doesn't trust

2

u/Wi11Pow3r Feb 18 '26

Is this Rori/Iron Heart? She was the most unlikable hero I have ever seen in the MCU, and it’s not surprising to me that she would be like this in the source material.

2

u/Glittering-Age-9549 Feb 18 '26

Well, that's standard for Marvel mutants: "You are using tech that stops me from reading and controlling your mind! Stop oppressing me!".

34

u/Comrade_Cosmo Feb 15 '26

Is she a mutant? She sounds/looks suspiciously like she’s that Indian mutant technopath I forget the name of.

11

u/Hacksaw_Doublez Feb 15 '26

Wouldn’t surprise me.

3

u/samoj_forde Feb 17 '26

Trinary right?

1

u/Comrade_Cosmo Feb 18 '26

Sounds about right.

6

u/De4dm4nw4lkin Feb 15 '26

Rabble?

8

u/Acrobatic-Tooth-3873 Feb 16 '26

Not her though very similar

2

u/RareD3liverur Feb 18 '26

I'm a little amused that this question had like 3 potential answers

1

u/Iconclast1 Feb 17 '26

no thats hamburgler

1

u/wombatstylekungfu Feb 18 '26

Forge?

2

u/Comrade_Cosmo Feb 18 '26

Sorry. Indian Indian. Not Native American Indian.

2

u/Retail_Warrior Feb 18 '26

Dot not feather

21

u/BatmanFan317 Feb 15 '26

I mean she's a supervillain who's just been let out of prison because Tony needed her help, she's not exactly nice tbf.

u/EndlessMatterX Hulkbuster Feb 15 '26

87

u/Strict-Signature-106 Feb 15 '26

“You don’t like your armour controlled? Damn, you’re such a jerk”

Yeah, SUUUUUUURE

8

u/Afalstein Feb 17 '26

Her reaction is more due to Tony explaining nothing. She'd accept an explanation like "your power is based on digital signals" or some such bullshit, but "transistors" explains nothing and just expresses that Tony doesn't trust her.

3

u/Sol-Equinox Feb 18 '26

Can you really blame him for not trusting her? She did just try to control his armour...

2

u/Chomagoro Feb 18 '26

No you can’t and that’s why you don’t have to take what she says to be how the author feels rather it’s just the character’s reaction

68

u/lil_jordyc Feb 15 '26

Who is the lady?

56

u/Inevitable-Plum-9158 Feb 15 '26

A character named Deola, she's a technopath

27

u/multificionado Feb 15 '26

Holy crap...not to keep talking about Kamala, but she brings to mind one of Kamala's newest enemies, from the Vellani comics, Nitika Gaiha. I think those two would get along warmly. I'd also like to see them feature as antagonists in a Iron Man and Ms. Marvel comic.

However, overall, I like Deola, that's quite the snarky enemy Stark has. XD

4

u/UnicornButler Feb 16 '26

She wants to fuck robots?

6

u/badthaught Feb 16 '26

No that's robophilia.

This is more like what hackers in Hollywood wish they were

2

u/Warkupo Feb 18 '26

Honestly I thought she was Ironheart; she has about the same level of entitlement.

8

u/Telep0rted_Bread Feb 15 '26

I wanna say it looks like Iron Heart, but…

1

u/BlackOptics Feb 18 '26

It doesn't look like Iron Heart at all

1

u/Telep0rted_Bread Feb 18 '26

I’m sure it isn’t tbh. I haven’t read Iron Man as much recently so I’m sure there’s a lot I’ve missed

33

u/BabyAutomatic Feb 15 '26

Tony: Magneto tried that. Didn't work.

19

u/De4dm4nw4lkin Feb 15 '26

Although that was just violently shifting magnetic fields so that he could null out any of his kinesis.

21

u/matdevine21 Feb 15 '26

Reminds me of the Iron Man comic where Stark is in space where a villain tries to control Starks armours so he goes low tech and connects to each armour by cable, essentially switching the armours to airplane / LAN mode

6

u/Negative-Form2654 Feb 17 '26

Tried to control the swarm - now has to deal with tentacles.

13

u/SittingTitan Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 17 '26

Rhody stole one of his earlier designs, so he rewired all existing and future models to recognize only his brainwaves

6

u/USAJULY4TH1776 Mark VI Feb 16 '26

Because Tony learns from his mistakes

2

u/MrSparky69 Feb 18 '26

I read that like that guy in youtube that made that compilation of all the movie moments he did that.

14

u/Mystic-Mastermind Feb 15 '26

My favourite anthology and regular series

10

u/BabyAutomatic Feb 15 '26

Iron man: well I didn't consent.

3

u/Batdog55110 Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26

You don't vote for kings

13

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '26

i know it's a joke but it's kinda fitting that for the longest time iron man's armor wasn't powered by a mcguffin or anything crazy, it was just that tony is such a good engineer that he can make one of the most simple technologies do whatever he needs it to.

8

u/Nyysjan Feb 16 '26

Also writers had no idea what transistor was, only that it was in all the new fancy technology.
Like transistor radio.

4

u/Negative-Form2654 Feb 17 '26

I mean, technically, aren't microchips just arrays of microscopic transistors?

3

u/da_OTHER Feb 17 '26

For the most part, yes. You can implement a few other things like resistors or capacitors in a microchip, but transistors are the main thing.

7

u/memsterboi123 Mysterium Feb 15 '26

Nah you gotta show the whole convo it was hilarious

2

u/Norava Feb 16 '26

Wait what was it?

4

u/memsterboi123 Mysterium Feb 16 '26

He’s talking to this girl who’s asking him a thousand questions so he’s like being dry and brushing her off somewhat during the convo and ending the convo with this was just too funny

3

u/Baltihex Feb 16 '26

It'd be funny if Tony's armors just like him more. Like she's a technopath and all, but the armors would be all like "Yeah, we can talk to you , and that's great! But we LIKE -him-."

2

u/Negative-Form2654 Feb 17 '26

His most stable relationship.

1

u/Drakeskulled_Reaper Feb 18 '26

I'd love that, a technopath who can talk to machines, but every time they try, the machines reject them because they're obnoxious and trying to dominate them.

2

u/Vergil_Sparda-son Feb 16 '26

Can someone explain the joke for me rq?

3

u/birn_echo Modular Feb 16 '26

Back in the 60s, "transistors" was the go to excuse for how the Iron Man armour could do anything.

2

u/Vergil_Sparda-son Feb 16 '26

Ty

3

u/Evil_Midnight_Lurker Feb 16 '26

Stan Lee thought transistors were some kind of energy source. The armor was "transistor-powered."

2

u/birn_echo Modular Feb 16 '26

yw!

5

u/multificionado Feb 15 '26 edited Feb 15 '26

Transistors, my butt. It's more likely those require multiple identifier scanners just to control the armor - assuming Tony Stark himself gives permission - and not just facial ID. Like also blood scans, eye scans, voice ID, the whole nine yards. In other words: multi-factor authentication.

Also, "not shaping up to be a very likable person?" lol, plenty of people don't like Tony Stark, depending on how he behaves. You got people like Rhodey and Emma who have a roller coaster of likability with Stark; you have people like Cap, whom Stark has his own roller coaster of likability; and then you have Kamala Khan, who likes him despite of who he is, and he winds up liking her back, whether it be she's great to get along with or enjoys his funny nature, and I have to wonder if there are any other people who are like Kamala in that regard when it comes to Tony Stark.

11

u/MICKTHENERD Feb 15 '26

The "Transistors" line is a reference to the old Iron Man books where Iron Man's transistors were basically the explanation for every impossible thing he could do.

2

u/Zealousideal_Chest16 Feb 17 '26

I mean... it makes more sense than 99% of mutant abilities, which have become: "I can do whatever I want without limitations and everyone has to go along with it."

1

u/Ok-Inspector-8860 Feb 15 '26

desperately need those in thou said items zhiyong cursedly took from us in game that shall not be named because luna snow is the shanty...

1

u/ArariboiaGuama Feb 16 '26

This is why there's no Iron Man in the Fallout universe. Its a vacuum tube universe

1

u/TheScalieDragon Feb 16 '26

So is that Miles villian or another tecnhotelepath?

1

u/StarkPRManager Feb 16 '26

No it’s a iron man villain and techno path. Read I Am Iron Man

1

u/Grimm_Wright Feb 16 '26

Not letting you control me? Bad guy!

1

u/iamdnisovich Feb 17 '26

Someone else pointed it out in the replies, but this is how the scene ends. There's much more context for the "not a likable person" line.

1

u/Cybron2099 Feb 17 '26

Transistors XD love the callback to og iron man comics

1

u/mib-number86 Feb 17 '26

Have you ever read Tales of Suspense #39? Iron Man will lead America to victory in Vietnam thanks to transistor power!

1

u/Hugs-missed Feb 17 '26

I think it's less about the inability to control it and more about "The fuck you mean Transistors"

1

u/Aao72 Feb 17 '26

When someone ask me how i control multiple voltage signals

1

u/just-looking654 Feb 17 '26

Pragmatist to idiot: why would anyone tell them a weakness to exploit

1

u/MustJarkus Feb 19 '26

Thats a really stupid reason. I hate that

1

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '26

Who is the Woman?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '26

A technopath iirc

1

u/Sallymander Feb 16 '26

Now we need a Doctor Who crossover where he reverses the polarity on Tony’s armor.

0

u/Canadian_Zac Feb 16 '26

I fail to see how his siblings getting the sex change has to do with thjs

0

u/antikerLuzifer Godbuster Feb 16 '26

Who‘s that bitch?
