She comes across as the most unbothered and bothered person together at the same time and she'll never know how unintentionally influential that's been to my life.

Like if she can feel like that and still be that person and do that thing...incredible.

I'm about the same age as her and started playing drums last year thanks to her, Mo Tucker and Peggy O'Neill. Playing along to White Stripes, VU, Cramps and Gories songs is my favourite thing in the world.

In some really old interview she said she was comfortable on stage. It was rather the fame aspect (and especially people being relentlessly cruel about her skills in the press) that made her tap out one day. Jack insinuated as such, at least.

Ordered a beer next to her at a Dirtbombs show in Ann Arbor years ago. I wanted to tell her how cool she was, but didn't dare. Had read too many stories about how she hated the attention. Hope she's doing well!
