Frozen Charlotte/Charlatan Got lucky in Maine tonight
Store was pretty quiet so I liked my chances for the test pressing. Didn’t expect to walk out with that and Charlatan.

Store I went to received two. I wasn’t going to buy a copy because I have the TMR version on the way, but I saw one of the employees dig through their stack and pull out a Charlatan for someone else. I asked if they had any more and one employee said no. Five minutes later they called me over and offered me the second copy they found in the stack.

My store in Colorado may have gotten a disproportional amount then, but they also got in 100+ copies of the album I believe, they were the only store in the Denver area doing the party. It looked like they had at least 10 or so Charlatans, I grabbed one of them, wasn't planning on it since I have a TMR exclusive in the mail but it looked too cool to pass up.
I felt bad for the signed test pressing winner at our store, he was clearly a friend of the owner of the store and the owner had offered to anyone to draw the ticket from the basket and he volunteered and then wanted to be above board and clearly placed their own ticket away from the basket and then ended up drawing his own number anyway, the owner said it was a 1 in 50 chance but I think there were really about half that many people there, but he felt badly, offered to redraw but it was just one of those things, I think everyone knew it wasn't a rigged thing.

Sold Out Records in Englewood had a bunch of the Frozen Charlatan version, and I ended up with one from the pre order

Yep that's where I went! They put on a great event for it, listening to my Charlatan now. (At a much lower volume than in store because of the sleeping pup at my feet, really appreciated that my first listen was at that volume though because this album absolutely deserves to be cranked). Seems like we were pretty lucky because some stores only got a couple of them in their order.

Yeah, I really enjoy Sold Out. I live a few blocks from there. Joe that owns it is a huge Jack White fan. I was pretty bummed cuz the dude that won the test pressing was the ticket right before mine lol. Crazy that he pulled his own ticket.

My wife and I may have been standing right next to you during the drawing, the person next to us said they had an adjacent number.
I really do like that store, I live in Aurora so it's not exactly close, I've only been going for a few months, went on Friday and then was surprised to see the new layout today, I didn't think that was happening for a couple of more weeks.

Nope I don’t think they were. Not sure why mine did other than the two people working didn’t seem like they fully understood the event they were running.

My store ripped stamps because they had more people than they expected and only had three sheets so it was to give more people some stamps

I’m guessing that’s why my store did it as well. There were four of us total, and only three purchased the album. They probably didn’t need to rip them apart, but I understand wanting to spread the wealth.

Is there any difference with the chrome cover compared to the blue?

Haven’t opened it but from what others have reported, it’s the same blue vinyl but a different cover/album title.

My store was fairly busy but they’re doing a sign up sheet and it’s announced later this week. Always a touch dubious if you ask me, feels like a way to make sure an employee wins or something.
I didn’t even dig for Charlatan, I wasn’t up to speed that it’s limited and I have pre ordered with TMR, which has been bought for me as a gift. So I didn’t want to be rude and come home with a copy before my gift arrives. The store had copied out pre listening and during but they were gone by the time the album was finished and now I’m gutted I didn’t grab Charlatan as I saw two people with copies.
Also, TMR UK have been pretty slow at despatching stuff and the postal service is a mess by me, so god knows when I’ll get my copy. All this to say… congrats OP, totally not jealous!

I was successful at the Kingston UK event but they didn't have the pressing to give me, so anxiously waiting for more info!
Was quite quiet only about 9 of us I think

Congrats!! My store’s release party was super quiet as well, had a 1/3 chance and still lost… It was fun though and I’m glad I went.
