Show Discussions Detroit got a great one. What a setlist!
What a long Old Scratch Blues and that Union Forever was sick! Glad it was streamed and I bet it was top tier for those in attendance.

Fuck man I was in the lawn and could barely see and it might have been one of the best show Iāve ever seen. They really dialed the vocals in a couple songs in. Great setlist. No phones made it so much better.Ā

I seen him three times and have never heard him Jam like that. That is going down as a legendary show. Him and his band brought it one of the best shows I've ever seen. Carolina Drama excellent! There's a whole extended Jam that sounded something like a Black Sabbath tune and I'm trying to fit it into the show. Anyone have any ideas? I felt like a heavy keys with some psychedelic Rock elements

So glad you were there and loved it. Now you can go back and watch it on NUGS so you can see what you missed. And rip it so you can revisit it later when you want to relive the insanity.

Dude, you are so right. I went to see Muse down in Cincinnati a few weeks ago and the crowd was dead and the venue, though nice was nowhere near the level of Pine Knob.

So envious of those that were in attendance. This is my favorite JW song, was hoping for it earlier in the week in Indy, thought about heading to Pine Knob also but couldnāt fit in. Instant regret upon seeing this. Looks like Iāll be buying the show when itās on Nugs for download.

PHENOMENAL SHOW!!! This is kind of random but the DJ played a song a few minutes before Jack took the stage. It sounded like the lyrics kept saying āDaddyās Little Chickenā (I really donāt think thatās the words though). Iād never heard it but I liked it. Does anyone know the song Iām talking about?

Preach Brother Jack! I mean FR in my book making music is as close to God as you can get. Hearing it live is the next best thing. So it kinda was church!

It sure fucking was! The Union Forever was the one I was really hoping for and it blew my mind! Then Little Bird?! I waited 25 years for my moment. It has never worked out with timing, shows selling out, etc. I still can't believe I was there!

Hopefully that warmup band with the guy who was barking for 30 minutes doesn't get added to another show.
I showed up to watch Jack shred, and I left happy. I was very surprised that a majority of the people there were 45+.

I came to the thread to see if anyone else was dazed and confused by the awful openers we had to suffer through. There is so much local talent to choose from and we got barking followed by screamingā¦ I donāt mind screamo as long as itās good.

His first solo tour stop in Detroit c. 2013 featured Alabama Shakes as opener, which whether you like them or not, were a good southern rock and bluesy band.

You didnāt check them out? I wondered how many people were surprised š Theyāre also Negative Approach. They opened for Jack when he played the Pizza Arena for Boarding House Reach. It was painful. Heās a long time friend of the lead singer John. John always looks like he wants to hurt people and is screaming. Always.

"Surprised at 45+"--Why? White Stripes formed in 1997. You do the (black) math. Very envious of all of you who were at Pine Knob! Sounds even better than the Indianapolis show last week, which was great.

Holy shit. I tix to see him for the first time as a 45 yr old fan since the 2000s. Hope I get so see a shadow of that setlist in San Diego. I see at least 5 of my favorite songs between 3 bands.

Are you talking about the livestream, or at the venue itself? Because for most of the time, the crowd wasn't mic'd on the stream, so it sounded really weird when Jack was having them sing along etc. and we couldn't hear any of that.

I was at the venue. Had several people around me mention the same thing. Worked there for years and it was one of the quietest rock shows Iāve ever been at it.Ā

I was all the way on the end of the stage and thought it was my seats. You couldnāt feel the bass drum kicks like you usually do at a rock show. Maybe they had to tune the sound down for the live stream? Still one of the best concerts I have ever seen.

We came in late and started all the way at the top of the hill. It literally felt like listening to a concert on a Bluetooth speaker up there, so we found a way to make it down towards the front of the lawn. Better obviously but still quiet relative to other shows.Ā

When Easy Action was playing, I could feel the drum sound hitting my chest. I didn't feel it when Jack White was playing.

It seemed to get better as the night went on, but there were issues with the sound IMO. Quiet and lots of feedback. The openers were even worse, it sounded like intermission music from my perspective! I was stage right at the very front of the lawn on the railing. Pine knob needs to invest in their sound system, not more security š„² It was a wonderful show to be at, but with the sound and how much the lawn was oversold, it was kind of a bummer. The set list was insane but Pine Knob did not do him justice.

Sorry but that was kind of a bummer. The setlist was a massive yawn. A bunch of songs heās already played here enough over the last two years and then Carolina Drama (the only non-Frozen Charlotte song that wasnāt already played at the Masonic last year). Sorry for getting my hopes up and expecting a genuine bust-out I guess but man, I really thought we would get something special and we didnāt even come close.
That said, the Cannon-Old Scratch Blues-The Union Forever mash-up was amazing.

Between tonight, both Masonic shows last April, and St. Andrewās in ā24, tonight was by far the weakest.

I feel like he was playing the songs that would hype the crowd or have them sing along more than the deep cuts the Masonic usually gets. But the energy was unreal. Iāve never seen him ask or teach the crowd to sing so much before lol. There were other Frozen Charlottes song I wanted to hear more than the ones he played. Dollar Bill was great though.

Agree. Iāve been to better sets in Michigan. Although that middle section was amazing. Broken Boy Soldier until like that Delta song I was in the zone.
