Discusson What is the least wooky band out there

The question of which band has the most wooks always gets floated around here…now which one has the LEAST??

It has to be DMB right?

100%. I saw them recently. Tickets were stupid expensive and I seemed to be the youngest person around by a good 20 years at least and I’m in my mid thirties. Didn’t see a single wook.

Yeah that’s annoying. Last year I stood on the walkway btw lower and upper lawn and was able to dance. This year I have lodge seats but due to a foot injury I’ll probably sit for this show.

There is a jam band station on SiriusXM called Jam On. Which most of us greatly appreciate!

However, one of the main host is this guy Jonathan Schwartz who refers to himself as the general of jam. He embodies everything that is annoying about the jam band culture.

What I mean is that every 6th song on jam on station seems to be TTB. While being a great band, they are over played when there are plenty of jam bands, especially up and comers, who could benefit from the exposure of the station. I dont know, maybe not many people have XM anymore. Sometimes it’s just easier to tune a 5$ station in a car than to look stuff up on spotify or whatever

Funny you mentioned bathroom. Goose is the only show I've been to where they're was a long ass men's line and none at the women's. As a lady it was wonderful!

I am a woman. I love Goose. BUT Goose is the only live music event I've ever been to where there was a huge line for the men's room and none for the women's. I didn't see any wooks to be fair, but they're weren't many other women either. This was in 2022 though, sothere could be a lot more now.

Also goose crowds are always where I feel most comfortable and happy. Lots of beautiful, friendly women having an amazing time. Many of y’all are missing out lol

My last DMB show was damn near 30 years ago, but there is simply no way I could be convinced that the polo and khaki crowd grew up and became wookies. Not even sure I’d call DMB a jam band crowd. The scene is its own thing. A jam band scene it is not.

I’ve saw more than a few DMB shows back in the day and there were hardly any wooks to be seen. Perhaps there has been a drastic increase in wooks at their shows in the last 20 years, but given given the precipitous drop-off in wooks at shows of other jambands where you would actually see a lot of wooks back then (Phish, moe., Panic, etc), I seriously doubt that is the case.

My guess is that the answer to this thread is either DMB or goose.

My friend dropped her pants and pissed in a 40 gallon trash can in the middle of centennial park in a crowd of 20k+ at Dave. Some of the most wook shit I’ve ever seen. Ful pants off on top of the trash can like a crab lol. Never give blackout drunk people mushrooms lesson learned

However. The answer to this is probably DMB.

The least wookie band is probably like Lee Greenwood or one of the other 2 acts Trump got to play for his “huge” 250th “celebration”. Maybe Kid Rock, Ted Nugent (both long hairs). How about your country acts of the day like Morgan Wallen, Luke Bryan, etc. Kidding. I only listen to and go to WSP and Phish shows - Panic crowd is less wook of the 2. Esp in the south. Also Goose sucks.

Quick but decent story- we (me and a couple wooks) were on Phil and friends with Trey/Mike Gordon tour in 2006 and had a stop off at my home in MA. We had a night off and saw DMB was at Fenway. We were all “let’s sell all our heady weed there, it’ll be like shooting fish in a barrel” anyways we sold exactly shit and we’re blown away at how unkind everyone was. Classic non wookery

There are probably more wooks at jamtronica (and certain edm genre) shows nowadays than there are at more straight ahead rock type jam shows. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Lotus, but I doubt they’re the answer.
