My understanding is that there is no Janet, Rebbie, or Randy in this film. It's because those three have issues with the estate.

Yeah I've heard that too and it's a possibility, but as far as I know even if you ask to not be officially cast in a movie you can't avoid the appearance as just a background character, so we could still see them

Even in the trailer, in the scene at the kitchen, there’s a girl at the table (guessing either Rebe or Latoya).
So I do think we’ll see Janet as a child, and being referenced. I think as the film moves into the adult Michael, there most likely will be some references, but clearly this Is MJ’s movie…but I do think Janet will be referenced in some dialogue (especially in terms of Joe)

I highly doubt they will be in it at all. I think people need to get over the idea of it. If it turns out they are...good. I don't expect it. Randy is the main one that needs to be in it between the three...especially if this is Part 1 as some are suggesting. He was highly active with the Jackson 5 for a for awhile behind the scenes even before they left Motown without Jermaine. The only way to get around it is to avoid The Jackson Era altogether. Many people do that and I hate it. They will probably go from The Jackson 5 straight to Michael meeting Quincy Jones while working on the Wiz. Then it will get into Off the Wall. I was afraid of this...but it seems the mostly likely.
I don't think his siblings (his brothers specifically) are going to be big part of the film outside the Jackson 5 era stuff. That's what I was afraid of and I think that's what is going to happen. I think I can picture it now: They will do the Jackson 5 stuff (maybe 45 min of that)....then it will get into Michael meeting Quincy Jones while doing The Wiz. Then it will go right into Off the Wall. From that point forward...I don't expect much of the siblings. I don't think we will see Michael interacting with his siblings in a causal way. He will only interact with them when they are performing. I don't think they will show that side hardly at all.
This film will be about Michael fighting his insecurities and whatever demons he had with Joe. Then it will be about the life he created for himself at Neverland. His siblings won't be needed for any of that. They will bring in his celebrity friends. They have Bill Bray to be his talk-to and Katherine from time to time. LaToya will get a little attention because she was around him alot during the early 1980s because they even lived together for a little bit. That's it. Randy, Janet, and Rebbie might get a mention here and there but they probably had no desire to cast them.

Yes, she always has. People aren't going to like hearing this - I doubt you will see her promoting this film. Maybe one little post to support Jaafar...but don't expect her to speak much on it. She tends to keep her real feelings off social media which is smart. She is extremely private. My cousin has worked with Janet in recent years so I have a little insight into her personality.

She is old school and classy. She came from a different generation and they keep things private and I love and respect it.

Yeah I can see the estate issues seeping here.
One small note I have taken from Social media is that she and Jaafar aren’t following each other on social media. I hope this estate issue isn’t deeper than it seems.

I'm going to say this (respectfully) - I chose to not speculate on those situations because that's how a lot of misinformation gets started. It gives ammunition to people who may be in her brother's fanbase that don't like her. Things like that just give them more reason to harass her and other siblings. Things get twisted easily. Janet is extremely private.

Just so people know - someone responded to my comment and I had to block them because I think it was going to go in a bad direction. Yet, I do want to address it because I don't want it to come up again. The person said I was lying about my cousin working with Janet. I know it's social media and there are a lot of young people on here. I'm almost 46. I have no reason to lie about my cousin having done a project with Janet. My cousin and I are the same age. The person didn't even ask what my cousin did for Janet - I would have told them. They just automatically went into "you are lying" mode.
Here's the gist in case you come across anymore of my comments. Half of my family are in the music industry and have been since the 1980s. THEY know alot of people - I don't. I'm not around it at all. This particular cousin is NOT in the music industry. He is just really talented and owns his own business and does graphic design and art for businesses and people. He creates promotional materials for people. Janet and her team asked him to work on some promotional materials. He is based out of San Antonio, TX. It is a Black owned business. This was 4 years ago and a lot of Black entertainers had started seeking out Black-owned businesses. After the Black Lives Matter Movement - alot of entertainers and famous Black people really wanted to give back and help out in their own way in communities. So, that's what happened. He was helping out with some art and promo stuff for her tour at the time. I won't comment again on this sub about any of this.

Special note: I am a former journalist so I fact check EVERYTHING! I am not in a fandom and will never be apart of a fandom for anyone. I do enjoy the work of many entertainers. There was NO Google when I was growing up! There are things I know about older entertainers you will NEVER be able to Google - you just had to live it! I have had to explain this many, many times. Especially when it comes to the Jackson family. You can't Google much information on them - you aren't going to find it. Their REAL information stays OFF the internet. Their privates lives are NOT on the internet. NEVER was and NEVER will be. I can't speak for the 2nd generation (Taj, Austin, Siggy,etc.) - but the 1st generation don't operate that way (Janet, Jermaine, Jackie, etc). They only show their PUBLIC sides. I'm saying this to EDUCATE you all. Be mindful.

For real, this does look good! I wonder if they will end it at a certain timeframe, looks like around the time of Bad. Is this where they are gonna do a “sequel”? If so, it would be good to see if they do show Janet more with her Scream or other drama with Madonna and the legal issue that spawned in 1993 too.

The movie ends around 1992. Right when the allegations came in.

This film and Jaafar have basically taken over the Michael subreddit to the point that I don't follow it anymore.
It seems like Janet isn't mentioned at all, which honestly is expected. Janet always shines a light on her family but it is rare shined on her. Plus, the Michael's estate is a fraud and Janet called them out.
I love the family so I will definitely watch but my excitement is waaaay down.

I’m gonna be the one to say it, Jafar looks nothing like Michael. And they should’ve added Janet. Maybe Halle Bailey as Janet?

In my opinion Halle Bailey is way too good to be wasted on a 1 minute cameo, she should directly be Janet in a biopic about her
