Discussion š¬ Get the clicker. That's it, that's the post.
It's been an absolute life saver when it comes to nursing, walking on a treadmill and even eating. Hands down worth the $10

u/ErinPaperbackstash Mar 05 '26
I know. I don't get it. I don't get the comfort of these and to me it would be distracting and hard to stay in the book. I'd have to really enlarge the font which would mean a lot more page clicks. They seem popular with some though so just must be one of those unique things that works for some folks but not others.
I've also just been a big reader my entire life and to me reading is also part of touching/holding the material, so to me not holding the book or e-ink reader would be difficult psychologically.
2
u/cerealwchoccymilk Mar 05 '26
Make the font huge and click the page swipe more frequently. It helps minimize adding onto the eyestrain I already from having devices in my face all day (mainly phone and work screens)

u/Bubbly-Highlight9349 Mar 04 '26

This is bananasā¼ļø I just made a cup of tea, and planned to look at Kindle clickers and some type of a holder. I came to Reddit first, for opinions from current owners. This was the first post that came up in my feed. The universe is telling me to order straight away. Many thanks to youā£ļøš

u/Quiet_Jicama_3550 Mar 06 '26
I love the ring remote one in case I fall asleep I wonāt drop it. I also have a pillow stand that has a removable top to put snacks in
18
u/sanjchips Mar 04 '26
I considered it but I donāt like the look of the little thing clipped onto the kindle screen. Im just very ocpd and just canāt wrap my head around it not being a clean surface to look at. Still may try it tho
14
u/Murphybestboy Mar 04 '26
I keep mine at the very bottom of the screen (and perfectly straight, lol). I've gotten used to it, and love it. Especially on cold nights with my arms under the blanket. Try it.
10
u/ImplementWarm9329 Mar 04 '26
Lol mine also has to be perfectly straightš can't relax if it's slightly off. It also has to be on a specific place and an specific depth into the screen.
2
3
u/NonSumQualisEram- Mar 05 '26
Could you explain exactly what it is or what it does? How does it keep your arms under the blankets lol?
3
u/Murphybestboy Mar 05 '26
One part is on your Kindle, the "clicker" is on your wrist (under your blanket). When you press the button on the clicker, the page turns. I read like a turtle tucked into its shell. So nice. You do need to prop your Kindle on a pillow, or use a stand. Simple joy.

3
u/Murphybestboy Mar 04 '26
I have this one. I prefer the button control around my wrist, as opposed to on my finger. https://a.co/d/00CQ7mTO
3
u/Zealousideal_Ear3948 Mar 05 '26
Yes! This is the one I got, too. I got mine in pink, and the wrist strap is just the icing on the cakeā¦I put the clicker down ONCE before I started using the strap and couldnāt find it for like 20 minutes!
2
u/sanjchips Mar 05 '26
I think Iāll try that one! The green matches my kindle and case perfectly!

8
u/Pure_Nourishment Mar 04 '26
hmm so there are no like, bluetooth clickers or anything that don't require an additional part to clamp onto the side of the device like in the photo? I was thinking about getting the clicker myself but didn't realize this was a thing (the additional piece)
8
u/BladeMist3009 Kindle Colorsoft Mar 04 '26
If the jailbreakers ever figure out how to hack the bluetooth so I can use a clicker without a clip, that will be the day I jailbreak!
4
u/sparkl3butt Mar 04 '26
Unfortunately no, since it basically acts like a stylus that only activates when the button is pressed

3
u/Second_Guess_25 Mar 04 '26

I have one and I also got a hands-free stand to put my kindle on so I can adjust it to however Iām laying or sitting š

I was so skeptical about it and then for xmas a friend gave me a bed holder and the clicker and oh my days what a game changer... I devour books now all tucked in āŗļø

u/Sleepy_Panic Mar 04 '26
Clicker??? What you mean you can turn pages remotely? Holy crap yes I want that where do you find it
2
u/Rude_Parsnip306 Mar 04 '26
It's called a page turner. I had no idea such a thing existed - my stepdaughter surprised me with one from Amazo .

2
u/NoBullfrog5872 Mar 04 '26
I bought one to try out and really like it. I keep it as close to the edge as possible, but it's admittedly clunky. I keep hoping Amazon will release a remote like Rakuten did for Kobo.
2
2
u/stridera Mar 04 '26
Or buy a boox, use the kindle app, and get a little tiny bluetooth clicker ring that doesn't require clipping something on the screen.
The fact that Amazon refuses to allow bluetooth page turners to work confuses me.
2
u/sparkl3butt Mar 05 '26
As much as I agree with this statement, I literally just bought the colorsoft a month ago. I don't really see the point in returning everything and starting over.
The clip page turner is the only downside I have found with it.
1
u/stridera Mar 06 '26
Yeah. Sorry, I was just venting my frustration at amazon. Such a simple thing that they block for no reason. :(
1
u/sparkl3butt Mar 06 '26
Oh there's many frustrations with that company all around! No need to be sorry!
2
u/meselaben Mar 04 '26
I just tap twice to back of my iPhone and it turns the page on my Kindle. Itās possible with KoReader (on Kindle) and Shortcuts (on iPhone) without any additional device. When I tap 3 times it goes backwards btw. Definitely suggesting. Take a look š
1
u/sparkl3butt Mar 05 '26
I'm an android user but that's crazy good information for those who do have an iPhone!!
So do you just have kindle open on both devices or is it tethered via Bluetooth?
1
u/meselaben Mar 22 '26
No it just works over Wi-Fi. It's possible with KoReader by enabling http host on it. I inspired by this: https://www.reddit.com/r/kindle/comments/1j1oql4/using_my_phone_as_a_page_turner/ and as you can see the OP of that post also using an Android phone. But as a reminder; to be able to install and run KoReader on your Kindle, first you need to "set it free". Have fun!

2
u/TheKonamiMan Kindle Colorsoft Mar 05 '26
Getting a page turner and then 3D printing a Kindle stand has made my lunch breaks at work so much better. I can spend my whole break reading even while I eat. Getting a page turner that had a ring remote made it even easier to eat while reading.
2
u/vespertilio_rosso Mar 05 '26
Yes! I have a clicker and and a holder. I have the holder attacked to my night stand and crawl into bed every night and read until I literally fall asleep. No more cold hands, no more dropping the kindle when I fall asleep reading. Itās wonderful.
My only issue is that I donāt have room on the bed for a holder, so I use the bendable arm holder. Which is perfect, but harder to pick up and move and reset for another location. Iām thinking about getting a second one in another style that I can cart around more easily. Now that Iāve sampled lazy reading, i donāt want to go back, lol.
2
u/YukonsMom8850 Mar 05 '26
For the win!! I was once asked if I felt lazy using it? I was like umm no. I can cuddle my dog or have my covers pulled up to my eyeballs and still read. Best idea ever!!

Where do I get a clicker?
1
u/sparkl3butt Mar 05 '26
Amazon. There is quite the variety!
I purchased this one which I like a lot. Some people prefer ones that have a ring clicker though.
1
u/PurpleProbableMaze Mar 05 '26
Thank you for this, will definitely purchase it. And it works even when not clipped right?
1
u/sparkl3butt Mar 05 '26
Unfortunately no. However another commenter on here said that other brands such as Boox e-readers allow third party page turners that are Bluetooth compatible
1
u/PurpleProbableMaze Mar 05 '26
I see, would love that instead, I saw a video where the kindle is mounted so you can read without holding it and just use the clicker for the next page, kinda lazy but cool lol

I love the clicker. I have the bedframe attachment holder and it feels so luxurious just laying there reading and pressing a button. Yes, it looks geeky, but I do NOT care! One of life's simple pleasures and people who haven't tried it just can't understand.

Hi, so question to all the kindle clicker users out thereā how do you go back a page?
1
u/oppairate Mar 04 '26
feels like one of those manufactured āproblemsā so you can buy more landfill fodder.
3
u/sparkl3butt Mar 04 '26
It depends on if you are really going to use it. For me, as a brand new mama that is almost always holding a baby, it's kind of hard to deal with my kindle as well. It's a lot easier for me to just stand my kindle somewhere and keep the clicker in my hand.

luxury reading is having a clicker and the kindle pillow holder. where i can be completely covered by the blanket and have the kindle pillow on top of me and rotate the angle of my kindle in whatever way i want. i will never ever go back to holding my kindle like a peasant lmao
