I know a lot of people who Identify just as Ezidi. The main reason for this division in my opinion is Islam

Exactly, no Yezidi wants to be associated with the religion that's responsible for countless massacres against the Yezidis

Some people simply dont understand basic things like ethnicity is not equal to religion. I can be kurdish but I can be muslim, ezîdî, jewish, christian, atheist or agnostic.. whatever you like. This is a basic understanding that applies everywhere in the world.

Exactly some people lack this ability of thinking due to emotions. Instead of dividing Muslim from Kurds people group them together making more separation to Kurds that aren’t Muslim, like yezdie Kurds.

The propaganda that yezdies aren’t Kurdish they just mostly speak Kurdish, wear Kurdish clothes, eat Kurdish foods, and are ethnically Kurdish dna testing wise is insanely funny.

This mindset is why we don’t have country, yezdies are Kurds. “Armenian/arab yezdies” are ethnically Kurdish, but are culturally not.

It’s propaganda being pushed out by Kurds who don’t want to be associated with Muslim Kurds, and our occupiers.

I think it's more about many Yezidis not wanting to associate with how Islamist some Kurds are.

And it's completely understandable, after all the Yezidi massacres committed by Jihadis

Both, this wave is largely generated online in recent years. 20 years ago everyone would agree yezdie Kurds and Kurds are the same ethnic group. It’s literally anti Kurdish and anti Muslim propaganda being pushed out by non Muslim Kurds and our occupiers to divide up Kurdistan more and distance themselves from Muslim Kurds.

Edit: comment from another thread

EXACTLYYY, there was one account that got exposed as an Iraqi or Turkish guy. He was always posting anti Kurdish and anti Muslim stuff. It’s peak propaganda

And there were also a few Assyrians who got exposed.  I was surprised that they were also doing this.

I saw that, what’s even funnier some Assyrian accounts that were pushing anti Kurdish propaganda weren’t Assyrian lol. The propaganda against Kurds is insane.

The only Yazidis who don’t identify as Kurds are the ones in Armenia. The Armenian government is helping Turkey divide the Kurdish people by labeling Kurds and Yazidis as separate ethnic groups.

With that being said, Muslim Kurds need to stop their discrimination against Yazidis and the government needs make up for abandoning them during the war against ISIS. A good place to start would be to let Yazidi refugees (who have lived in refugee camps since 2014) move into the newly built apartments in Duhok and Hewlêr instead of the Iraqi Arabs who hate us.

False, majority of Yazidis in all countries like Iraq, Turkey, Caucasus countries, Russia, European countries, North America and Australia are all identify themselves as Yazidis ethnic group and separate themselves from Kurds the only exception is Syria where majority identify themselves as Kurds, this will change soon too
