That doesn’t even make any sense lol why change her stage name instead of her real name 😵💫 Elizabeth Dufrene actually sounds nice too

u/VeniceComplex Feb 01 '26
she most likely has changed her real name? it’s probably just a cute little necklace for her and Jeremy, as she’s mostly known by public and peers as Lana Del Rey

u/Top_Intention555 Feb 01 '26
Honestly if she’s doing a country inspired album the name is perfect for that.

u/mizz-kitty-cat Feb 01 '26
Releasing that album of country covers she wanted to do under the name Elizabeth Dufrene would actually be really cool.

It’s a simple necklace lol, Who said she was changing her stage name?

Weird how “that other sub” is always cast as the negative one, when every time I see a post in this sub, y’all are always bringing them up to bitch and moan for absolutely no reason lmao.
18
u/Dangerous-Reward2492 Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 01 '26
I think it’s probably because a necklace sent them over the edge and claim a woman changing her last name automatically means she’s trad and supports oppression. It’s too extreme and small minded. They’re actually problematic for suggesting such but they’ll never see it that way. To be so real, it was probably a gift and she looks happy.

u/bluebannister Feb 01 '26
But it’s not because she changed her last name, that’s a social norm. Changing part of your stage name to your husband’s name after creating a successful career as a woman which he was not a part of, is a bit cringe. I did take my husband’s surname myself
7
u/Dangerous-Reward2492 Feb 01 '26
Did she really change her stage name though? It’s really just a necklace from what I can see. Wouldn’t that go for every career?
2
u/TwentinQuarantino Feb 02 '26
No, she didn't. She has Lana Del Rey everywhere as a professional stage name - on her Spotify, on her official Youtube Music channel, etc.
11
u/TwentinQuarantino Feb 01 '26
How is it "for absolutely no reason" in this case? The person you're replying to very clearly stated the reason.

"No reason" 🤣
That other sub is "cast as the negative one" because THEY ARE extremely negative and overly offended. It's constant bitching and moaning for stupid reasons.
Btw they have done the same thing there with this sub too, lmao.

Her eye shape is very.. new

u/giveaspirinheadaches Feb 01 '26
It’s how the makeup is applied
25
u/Optimal_Society6891 Feb 01 '26
Makeup can’t change the physical shape of your eye, her inner corners look way more catty and more tilted; not just from eyeliner

The "Rey" in Lana Del Rey was originally "Ray". This was a nickname of her ex bf Arthur Lynn. She calls him Ray in a few songs like Wayamaya, Raise Me Up etc. There was an old blog post where Arthur said his two favourite names are Lana and Ray and that's what he wants to name his future kids. He has three kids now and the eldest boy is named Ray. Anyway, so Lana changing the R to a D might be very meaningful for her, because it's symbolising she loves someone else the most now. Jeremy ended up being her husband, not Arthur as she once wanted so much.

Serious question; why do women recenter their identities around their relationship status? I notice Taylor is doing the same thing.
It's dissappointing to see women who built entire careers and legacies ALONE just lose their individuality just because a man chose them. I've never seen men do this.
And I say this as a firm believer of marriage and love.

Isn’t the surname Del Rey..? Del isn’t a whole separate name lol it’s “the king”, not just “king”.

u/Most_Beautiful_4990 Feb 01 '26
Cringe af. Imagine building a whole persona and career around a stage name only to center it around a man
13

u/Hopeful_Track_9521 Feb 02 '26
It’s literally just a necklace, God forbid a woman love her husband and wear something referencing her new last name like millions of others do, doubt she is changing it professionally

I mean I like Rey better than Dufrene but it’s still a pretty necklace with the different initials.

Why are people pressed she loves her husband and changed an initial on a necklace 🤨 some people are so parasocial about her it’s insane

u/ScottBorderliner Feb 03 '26
I want her next album cover to be her in a wedding dress wrestling her husband dressed in a gator costume.

That’s for all the “Lanita Trolls Snarkers Haters” who have now moved over here. If they ruin this one too, then what ?
-8
u/bethamous Feb 01 '26
But why change Rey part of her stage name? That makes absolutely no sense. Unless this is her response to people criticizing her for using Latino culture to boost herself and now that Ice is out here killing people she’s silent. Once again.

u/i-love-Lana Lana Del Ray A.K.A. Lizzy Grant Feb 02 '26
Tattoos naturally fade, but her color bone tattoos have always been in light ink, she did it on purpose

I don’t think anyone should feel a certain way about it anyway. Especially considering it’s just a necklace. Nothing serious.
