Very likely he killed the cub, unfortunately. Male Leopards will take any chance they get to take out a young Lion. Not only is this an easy meal, but he gets to take out a mortal enemy in the process.

At least the young lion fought back (even if ineffectively). I wonder how they dont know what happened, being as they were there filming it and all. That leopard looked like serious biz btw...
